They're terrible, the French pieces get stuck between your teeth. This is much better:
Hawaiian Macadamia Nuts
Ingredients:
1/2 c Softened Butter (or any old fat)
1/2 c Sugar
1 tb Vanilla Extract*
1/8 ts Salt (yes, really)
5 oz Whole Macadamia Nut
1/4 c Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips
1 ts Shortening (no, I've no idea either)
1 lg** Egg
1 1/2 c All Purpose Flour
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large mixer bowl at low speed, beat butter (or fat) and sugar until blended. Increase speed to medium-high, beat until fluffy and poofy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Beat in flour and salt. Shape 1 ts of dough around each Macadamia nuts. Place on ungreased baking sheets (ungreased, make sure you read that properly). Bake for 10 to 13 minutes or until golden around base of each cookie. Cool on wire racks. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt chocolate chips and shortening (look I don't know ok? Just look it up). Drizzle over cookies. Actually I hate that word, it's so pretentious, so pretend I didn't write that and wrote 'pour' instead. Go on.
Store in a tightly covered container away from mother (if she's anything like mine then she'll be throwing them at crows).
