Hi All!
Nate and I are considering adopting a 3 month old handfed lutino lovebird. Any thoughts on this type of bird. I know they are loud but so are 7 parakeets. Thanks
Linda

Lovebirds can be wonderful pets. Do you know if this is a male or female? In my experience, the males are usually the most friendly of the two. My lovebird, Tracy is a wonderful little guy and at 10 years old he is as sweet as ever.

We don't know yet. Nate and are are waiting to hear from the person who has Baby. I have a picture but not sure how to get it on here for all to see. Beautiful yellows and cherry colored lower face and cheeks.

To put a picture here, you have to actually have it on another website & provide a direct link to it. I'd love to see it, if you have a place to put it up.

Lutino is a sex linked colour mutation, so if you can find out what colour the parents are, we might be able to tell what sex the baby is.

We pick her up late Sunday morning!!! Have to get the travel cage ready! Nate is so excited. He wants to keep her in his room which will be good since she is new and needs isolation for a month.

Update! Well the person who has baby wasn't home even after I called and confirmed we would be there. Drove 1 1/2 hours in Dallas area traffic and sat in his yard for almost an hour. Maybe it was a good thing since the place didn't look all that great. OH well!
We are going to look for a breeder in our area. No rush since I still have the 7 parakeets.
I get the plans for an avairy window extension to the house later this week. Can't wait for that to happen. Free flight for the 7. With a sliding screen door into the living room, it will help control the feathers. Our AV will also check it out to make sure we have covered all the important stuff.

Oh no - what a shame! <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
I'm sorry the little lovebird didn't work out for you.

The aviary window extension sounds wonderful though. I'd sure love to see that when its finished.

Hi Holly's Mom! If you're ever in the OKC area I have a friend who sells Lutino lovies. Here's my Peaches that I got at 3 weeks and now she's 11 weeks old and such a sweetheart.
