Do you think that the days of creation were literal days?

No, I think they were heaven days. We are so small minded and so self centered to think it was our days. God works on a different plain than we do. It would be his 7 days, not ours. Adam and Eve would have been in the garden, paradise, while the world underwent its geological & scientific changes. How long they stayed in the garden is not mentioned. It is only when they were thrown out that our history began.

I guess someday we will know exactly how long those days were. (If we even care to know then )
Since Adam and Eve had eternal life until they were banned from the tree of life, it's hard to say how long they were there.

Have you ever heard the song "Questions for Heaven" by Chris Rice? I love it, He talks about all the things he wants to ask God when he gets to heaven.
Of course, then there's Mercy Me's song "I Can Only Imagine" where the guys don't know WHAT they'll do when they get to heaven!

Sorry, off topic. No I don't think they were 24 hour days. I think they were God's days (however long those are.)

I've often wondered where the Garden of Eden is. Is it Atlantis at the bottom of the ocean, or is it on another planet, and that's why we can't really succeed with any space program? Just ponderings I've had over the years.

In Canada we had a politician running for prime minister of Canada - he was from Alberta. Alberta is a concervative province. Anyway he was slammed by the eastern media because he said that he believed that the world was created in 7 days.

It is something many people think about, especially kids in school learning about the big bang theory and our ancestors the apes..... like that makes any sense.

You know, why do so many people think that science and God have to be mutually exclusive? God CREATED science! If He wanted to create the earth in a way that falls into line with what our scientist call "the big bang theory" then that was His choice.

Evolution however; there are some areas I believe in. I believe in species evolution-that a species evolves in order to protect itself throughout the ages. But as far as us coming from apes; if that was the case, why are the apes still here? There'd be no use for them anymore.

You hit the nail on the head there.

I slipped up when writing an article about where my bias is due to a contraversal series I'm writing on the son's page.

I wrote "that as a Christian I am called not to judge, that is God's job. As parents we learn that we love our children even when we dislike their behavior. Christians are called to love people but abhor their behavior."

OOOPs really got to watch how I'm writing in the middle of the night because I really upset someone. I've fixed it since, but what one believes is a charged issue. One people take very very personally.

I think it's because although their head is saying God doesn't exist their soul is telling them otherwise. This is why they attack Christian belief systems and the bible, to prove to themselves that their heads are right.

It doesn't matter to me if someone decideds not to be a Christian, it doesn't matter to me if they decide to be wicca, I'll try really hard with God's help not to judge, but I don't have to agree with them. Yet they always judge me and want me to agree with them.

OK I'm going on way too much here. I'll probably read this later and say WHAAAAA I definetly ate too much of my kids halloween candy.

Yes we are told not to judge but we are called to be faithful to our beliefs and not to budge on that issue. That's often where people get mad at us. Being a Christian means holding tight to all the teachings of Jesus Christ, not just the ones that everyone is happy with.

Lisa emailed both of us and said that everything was fine because some overlap will happen and we are all allowed to post our beliefs. Basically she told us pagans post their beliefs all the time and christians should be supported to to. Or something like that. Anyway she was very nice, very helpful and very diplomatic.

I woke up thinking of this thread again. I don't know why.

I think that its interesting that we want to limit the Creator of our universe to natural laws.
When Jesus turned water into wine He speeded up the laws of nature. (Water causes the grape vine to grow and the vine produces the grapes. The grapes are harvested and eventually become wine.)
It may have taken 6 literal days to create the world. It may have taken 6 hundred years. God created it with His word. How fast can you talk? It may have taken 6 minutes.

I think this way of thinking has come from some of the conflicts that I have encountered over the years...

HI Lynn,
I haven't been around lately..I started a new job and a new buisness venture all at the same time and have been very busy... Working full-time and starting a new buisness is quite a handfull!!! But I think I can handle it!! LOL!!
