Well, I've decided it's been long enough and I'm going to try my hand at breeding my tiels again. Today I purchased a new breeder box and some bedding and hooked it up to the cage. Loki, my cock, seemed somewhat frightened of it at first but now I think he's getting a little more interested in it. I just put in a new cuttle bone and mineral block which they ravaged. I'm so hoping they successfully breed and manage to rear their young this time! It broke my heart last time when they had two babies hatched and I had to watch them die. The mother chewed their feet off and I didn't realize it until it was too late <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> I think it may have had to do with poor nutrition on the parents part and the fact that it was their first time. Plus I later found out the hen had an infection. Well since then (about 10 months ago) they have been checked out by the vet and deemed healthy. I also managed to convert them to pellets. I have a few questions. Should I add seed to their diet (not entirely just minimally)? I already give them petamine breeding formula but is that enough? Are their any supplements I should be giving them? Should I hook up a humidifier? Any extra info I might not have come by yet would be greatly appreciated!!!
