I am going to dye my hair tonight, so for the next 8-10 months, I can only wear very dark shirts because anything light will have greyish stains when I pull them out of the wash. Anybody have a clue? I have asked everybody, nobody has seen this before.

I think dish soap might help but wait for someone else to say that before you try it.

Are you saying that the tint rubs off on your clothes?

Are you using a permanent hair dye or some sort of temporary stain? I've dyed my hair a wide variety of colors over the years, some of them very unnatural, and only the technicolor temporary stains gave me any rubbing off trouble.

What product are you using????

I have used every brand out there. Permanent.I'm just covering some gray. No crazy colors, just brown-auburn. The stains on my shirts look grayish. Like I spilled oil on them. This only happens when my hair is still wet when I get dressed. But I can't dry it first. It's curly and very long. I look like bozo if I dry it or even run my fingers through it. and it takes a couple hours to dry on its own so I can't really sit around either.

I have never seen permanent tint stain clothes after it has been shampooed well. It is possible that for some reason your hair releases the tint easier than others.

You could keep one t-shirt to wear just on hair color day.

If it were just hair color day i wouldn't mind. It happens as long as my hair is not my natural color. Until it grows out. Even a year later.
