I've been fascinated this year to find that my aura has stayed healthy shades of violet, pink, blue and turquoise through all the changes that have been going on in my personal life. The colours in your energy field can change quickly as it responds to your emotions, but most of us have fairly constant colours that show up again and again and give away our personal traits!

Have any of you seen your aura or had your aura photograph taken?

My sister and I had our auras photographed. The man handed me the photograph, I looked at it, and down at the shirt I was wearing. My aura was the Exact Color as my shirt (orange). My sister's aura was the exact color orange also. The man said there were six spirit guides in my aura picture. Not sure what all this means, but I can tell you that after looking into lepidolite, I realized I already own one, but I don't think it is the book type. It sits on top of my tv, next to the computer, lovely light lilac stone with pink tourmalines all over it. Acquired it at the same place I got the black tourmaline years ago! (black mystery stone, shards). I think I have only seen one person's aura, and it was white. At the time I did not know what the glow was around him. Turns out he and I share the same birthday. And he is very cute. And his wife has the same first name as moi.

Our auras often match the colour of our clothing, especially if it is a colour you choose a lot. Bit chicken & egg that one- not sure if you choose a colour to wear because it is the colour of your aura, or if your aura picks up on the colour you wear!

Your lepidolite with tourmaline sounds very pretty. Try it under your pillow, but cleanse it first!

As for your friend's aura- sounds like you'll be on the same wavelength with all of that synchronicity around you. Maybe that's why you could see it.

Like Firefly, I have only seen an aura once - again a white one round my special man friend's head. I did not realise until afterwards either - it must be to do with the fact we are soulmates. My young niece can see auras all the time and I would love to know how to encourage this gift so she doesn't lose it. If anyone can help with that I would be grateful.

Many children see auras naturally & lose the ability as they grow up. I think they shut it off because they become more self-conscious of what they are 'meant' to be seeing, especially if they are told not to 'be silly'; unfortunately once they go to school we have less control over the response of adults and other children.

I would just acknowledge that she is seeing something and encourage her to describe the auras as she sees them. You could get her to draw them, give her some coloured pencils.

I have a lovely picture drawn by my daughter aged 4 with a multi coloured aura. She has closed this ability down for a while, but remembers that she used to watch the Headmistress' aura in assembly when she was in the Infants school. I think she will reopen her psychic vision as she matures into adulthood.

Today I attended a metaphysical fair. I bought two raffle tickets and told my friend (in charge of the fair) I never win anything so I considered it a donation. I was having a flare-up of my foot in mouth condition. Two hours later she found me outside, sharing my lunch with a man who was hungry and in exchange he was letting me in on his secret of the universe. She informed me I had won an "aura photograph". We laughed and I made a beeline for the photo booth. My aura was orange, just like the one taken 1 1/2 years ago. Apparently I am still creative. I am skeptical of this photography but I will admit I am creative. My spirit guides are still with me; I think they like photo ops. I was told Sylvia Browne says the white dots are angels, and the blobs are spirit guides. My question is, if I have six angels and numerous spirit guides showing up in the picture, does this mean I need a lot of guidance, or am I blessed?

I think the secrets of the universe in exchange for a bit of lunch was a bargain- although he clearly needs to work on manifesting on the physical plane a little!

Was it a lovely bright orange? Lots more energy to do and make if so. As for your guides and angels I think the more the merrier. As you go on your path you tend to attract more in to help. It's good to make a firm connection with one guide at least- your main guide can act a bit like a doorkeeper for you so that you aren't overwhelmed with all the support!

I was grabbed by the hand by a fresh faced Hare Krishna monk when I was out shopping yesterday, who very earnestly told me we aren't the physical we are spirit. I just smiled and said you're absolutely right <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

The condition persisted into today; my second ticket was drawn today (I was not there), and I won a "soul retrieval". I have no idea what this means or where my soul went! The women doing this have studied with South American shamans and I will report in after I do this thing! The Hare Krishnas used to hang out here in the late 60's and early 70's, telling us the same message and then talking us out of whatever money we had in our pockets. They were good. Then they disappeared and I have not seen any in several decades.

I've had my aura photographed three different times. The first two times the image was very similar but the third time it was quite different. I'm curious as to how it might look now.

What would a gold/yellow and blue aura represent?

Rae those aura pics show just how far you've moved on in a couple of years. The earlier ones show your creativity & energy, but the last is all about your spirituality. I had one full of white light, very similar to that when I'd just finished training as a crystal healer. Now more definite colours are back in, but they are all from the more spiritual end of the spectrum.

Yellow/gold shows a very happy and optimistic persona, also generous, blue is the quieter, more psychic side to your personality Mary Ellen.

My aura photograph showed lots of bright yellow, gold and orange - these are all colours I'd never wear. Thankfully, there was a lovely purple patch over my throat and chest and that's one of my favourites! I was going through a period of great change at the time so I'll be interested to see if, like Lauren's, mine stays the same or develops new hues with diferent situations!

I would think that the yellows & oranges are about the creative phase you are in now- you need lots of energy to put all of your business plans into operation. The purple reflects your core spirituality- as it appears at your centre that spiritual aspect to your life is there to stay.

I used to work in a new age shop and we had a aura camera and I used to take lots of fotos, and the funny thing was every time we went out and had a little to much to drink my aura was a very dark red, but my aura colours in a "normal" state used to be blue moving into a purple and then white at the edges. Also my husband and I took a aura foto the one time and it was quite interesting, both our harts were pink and moving out of my aura was blue and moving in his was blue and moving out of his was yellow and moving in mine was yellow..we totally balanced each other..

I'd love to have enough access to a camera to be able to conduct experiments like this. I know when I was hooked up to a computer version a few years ago my aura started out green & I asked to meditate for a few minutes; it turned blue- fascinating!

I typed in Progen Co., on the Matching Sites page I clicked on the second one listed- Auracamera 6000 Coggins Camera. I clicked on that and checked out the aura photo site. I had my aura done through the computer! You just answer several questions and the color of your aura will be told to you. I am very pleased with the color of my aura right now, and the various descriptions fit me like a glove! Everyone check it out, and let us know how it turns out. My aura is the same beautiful color as the nightgown I am wearing.

Click on Demo (left side of main page). That takes you to the questions (4). I did it again, but put in the opposite answers of last night and got a different color aura. Then I put in the same answers as last night and got my nightgown-colored aura from last night back. How do they get the horses hooves on the electrodes?

Thanks Firefly- got it now. The read out they give you is impressive- but I don't think they ask enough questions to get a truly accurate picture. You can't for example get a completely balanced read out because the questions are polarised. I came out lavender, how about you? Worth a go for fun!

Where would I go to find a place to have my picture taken?
I'm curious with my depression, post-hysterectomy, migraines, etc. as to how mine would look. I sometimes picture myself with this black cloud around me. I wonder if an aura photo would do the same?

Mine was lavender also, same color as the pj's! Last night when I put in the opposite answers my aura came out red. Then I put in the answers from the night before, and it was lavender again. Last weekend at the metaphysical fair there was a picture of my friends dog. Her dog's aura was purple, and the dog was proclaimed psychic.

To get your photo taken Michelle it would be best to look out for what we call a 'Mind, Body, Spirit Fair' over here- they may go by another name in the States- Firefly calls them metaphysical fairs. Some New Age shops own cameras, but they are few and far between because they are expensive. Most camera owners travel around setting up at the fairs.

I doubt very much that your aura would come out black- but I think the colours are likely to be dull and depleted at the moment. It does sound like you could do with a good healer after all you've gone through- see if anyone can give you a recommendation. I've had clients feeling like you that say it is as if a weight has been lifted from them after a healing. If you get stuck finding someone I could set up some distant healing for you, but I do have to charge for this & it is always more pampering to be seen in person.

What was very interesting about that third picture is that it was taken on the birthday of my maternal grandmother, who had just passed on earlier that year. I felt like she was really hanging around that day.

I'm very curious to see how my aura looks now, as I'm in such a state of transition as a person....

Could be Rae, all that white light can indicate spirit energy too. I've seen photos where you can make out shapes of spirit guides around the person. I'm pretty sure the other colours, the pinks and turquoises will show up again. Bet you won't have reverted to reds, oranges & yellows!

Michelle I am going to check with the people who take the aura photos; they live near the Alabama state line and might know someone in the biz up near your neck of the woods.

Although to be quite honest; just having had this surgery (other than the discomfort from the surgery itself) seems to have made a BIG difference. I haven't had a single migraine since the cut. And even with the enforced "confinement", my moods haven't anywhere near as black. This may have been the best thing i could have ever done!

That's great news Michelle! Sometimes surgery really is the answer, that's why I describe myself as a complementary therapist & not an alternative therapist. Maybe one day we will work hand in hand with orthodox medicine <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

How do you discover what color your aura is? My son says I have lots of lights around me like a Christmas tree but he is only four.

If your son is clairvoyant he can probably tell you! Stand against a blank wall & ask him to tell you what he can see around mom.

If the twinkles are around you & other people & animals that's okay- spirit often appears around us as twinkly lights. If he's getting visual disturbances generally though do get him checked out with your doctor as they can be a sign of physical issues. I'd hate for anyone here to miss getting a diagnosis if needed.

I definitely agree with Lauren here. If his "twinkles" extend to non-living things, or if he complains of any headaches w// them, or if he starts to notice any strange smells (oranges & garbage in particular- when there is no reason for him to be smelling it) take him to see his Dr.

"Twinkles" can often be a sign of pressure behind the eyes due to many reasons ranging from fairly benign to quite serious. So just keep an eye on him.

Hopefully this is just that your son is wonderfully perceptive and spiritually open.

I've never had aura photos done but from using Pam Oslers book on auras I have come to believe that I am a combination of purple and green.

I can sometimes see auras but mostly just a light around the person without much color. I can see this light around trees as well, although I have difficulty seeing it around our dog. I'm not sure if I happen to relate better to trees or what, but that's how it is for me.

If anyone is interested, I'll go look up the correct title of the book I mentioned earlier for you all.

Hi Maggie. Maybe you see the auras of trees more clearly because they have *big* auras. I spot my dog's aura quite a bit- he's very bouncy- an English Springer Spaniel & all that energy is hard to miss!

I had my aura photographed again at the New Age open house yesterday. I was interested to see what appeared, as I was in a very foul mood! I was hoping dark clouds and lightning bolts. Also, for the first time in several years, I finally picked up my paintbrush and started a painting. My other two aura photos have been just orange with spirit guides. This one was a surprise. The man took one look at it and said "You have a lot of healing going on!" I told him yes, I noticed a shift in my sadness and grief a couple of months ago (finally). There was beautiful jewel green on either side of my face, yellow above and indigo below. There was a small red spot just visible on the left, which he said indicated incoming stress, about two weeks away. I said "yes, this stupid trip I have to go on that I really do not want to go on".
That occurs two weeks and one day from now! No foul mood was evident in the aura. Missing also was my creative artistic orange, which surprised me since I had just resumed my painting the night before. Everything else jived correctly though; the sunny disposition (yellow) <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />, the healing (green) <img src="/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> and the spiritual quest (indigo) <img src="/images/graemlins/angel.gif" alt="" />.

LOL, I've never seen an aura with storm clouds & lightning bolts, that would be a great warning sign though wouldn't it? The new aura colours do indicate very positive change is now going on in your life. You will probably find that the colours will change again over the next six months as real progress is being made. I wonder if the orange was missing because maybe now you're finally using your creative talents, instead of just keeping them held inside and letting them grow (like when you were seeing them really strongly).

These aura photography people set up at the New Age shop several times a year so I will probably do it again for the Vernal Equinox. The woman said I can drive out to her house to have it photographed also.

Hi everyone. I'm still very confused. I just starting seeing the etheric aura 6 months ago and I have no idea why. Lately, everything (including furniture and pictures) has the "white mikly" glow around it. I'm a huge skeptic and am thinking I need my eyes checked. I guess I just need to understand why I'm starting to see this now and what it all means?

Don't be confused. Everything has an energy field- even things that we think of as inanimate such as crystals. The glow is the etheric & you are perceiving this because you are opening up on a spiritual level now. Have you done anything lately, such as meditation or yoga that may have shifted your perception?

By all means get your eyes checked to put your mind at ease, but some days everything is glowing around me- and my eyes are fine!

Hi Lauren, I decided last year around this time to become closer to God. I've been going through such a rough time that I only seem to find peace in the things that are "unseen". I have noticed that I have an active dream life now too - something I never had. So much has changed.

Could this be a gift from God? How is it used? Does it lead to other gifts?

Well that's a relief for you & a disappointment for the opticians!

Everything we have in life, including all of our skills, are a gift from the Divine. You are starting to see what is really there, which for so many is unseen. You will probably find the skills do develop as you come to accept them & align yourself more fully with your life purpose. You may find other psychic senses come into play too.

Times of change can feel harsh, but they are also great opportunities for spiritual growth. Some people use higher perception like I do in healing and readings, others are just content that they are seeing more clearly and do not feel compelled to do this- it is always your choice.

I think I need to ask the skeptic Libra in me to sit back and let my higher self take over. Also, I need to change my old thoughts of biblical condemnation to know that God is the creator of everything -including gifts to see past this world.

Some churches can be very closed minded about these gifts sadly. I think there is a lot of fear and misunderstanding out there. All we can do is work lovingly and with integrity. I want to share a story with you all because it touched me deeply and I hope that others may find it touches them as well. In 1997 my one and only granddaughter was being born. My daughter went to the hospital in the afternoon and I went in to stay with her early in the evening. Katie wasn't born until around 9 a.m. the next morning so I sat with her all night.

All during the night I sat in a rocking chair at the end of her bed. Sometime during the evening I noticed a soft, glowing white light streaming down from the ceiling and into my daughter's head. At first I thought that it was just my imagination. I moved around to different spots to see if the light would disappear, thinking it might be caused by a shadow or something like that. It didn't go away. No matter whether she moved or I moved, the light still continued to stream into her. I would shut my eyes and look away but when I looked back it was still there. It was an amazing experience.

I've often wondered if this was Katie's spirit entering her body or something like that. It was a precious gift to see this take place and I am still humbled each time I think about it.

I'd be interested to know if anyone else has ever had this kind of experience and also to know what you think it might represent.

I'd be interested in what other readers make of the light. I know when I'm working spiritually I have a stream of light entering my crown chakra. Maybe the labour took your daughter's consciousness to a more spiritual level?

Hi, Firefly, no, she wasn't born on any special day...except of course that day became special to us because it was when she was born.

The book is called "Life Colors:What The Colors In Your Aura Mean" by Pamela Oslie. Another great book is "What Color Is Your Aura" by Barbara Bowers. Both are really good. I prefer the test in Barbara's book but prefer the information in Pamela's, so I use them both.

I've always believed that a baby's spirit is with them from the moment they are conceived. Of course I realize this is not everyone's view. But it just seems awkward to me in cases of premature labors that a spirit would have to be "rushed" into an infant.

However, since (as Lauren pointed out) the head chakra is for deep thought, and your daughter, undoubtably was thinking of the oncoming birth - I am much more inclined to believe that this is what this light was. Even if she were sleeping, her subconcious and entire body would be focused on this one ultimate and precious event; bringing thought, will, spirit, and heart together to focus on her precious child.

That's what I believe the white light was - a total focus of your daughter's loving energy being given to this one moment in time like no other.

What an awesome topic! I've read about auras but could never get a picture in my head as to what to look for or to be able to see it. Where would I go to have a photo done? I'd love to see what mine looks like.

Also, at what age do kids stop seeing auras? I'd ask my daughter what she sees but I'm not sure she would understand what I'm asking of her. She's 5 years old. She has told me she sees people in her room, one which scares her badly and she will not sleep alone in her room. My little boys don't seem to be affected at all by her room. And if I were to ask her about auras, what would I say so she'll understand? My husband on the other hand, all kids seem to be drawn to him even if he doesn't open his mouth. LOL

Kids vary in their psychic perception as you've found- although I tend to say they are more psychically open & aware than most adults.

I wouldn't ask your daughter directly what she sees- remember if she's seeing auras all the time naturally that would sound like a very odd question! Giving her some colouring pencils & asking her to do a drawing of mummy while you sit for her might reveal something. Your best bet for an aura photo is a metaphysical fair- we call them Mind,Body,Spirit fairs over here.

If she's scared by the spirit in her room you could ask it to leave. One day when the kids are out light a candle in the room & ask the spirit to go towards the light. Intend that the family of the spirit and his/her guides & angels come to collect him/her. Wait & you may notice a change in atmosphere. If this doesn't work call in a professional- if you're stuck or fearful about this I can often clear from a distance if you send me some more info by email.

As far as getting the "people" in my daughter's room to leave, is there a mantra/prayer to say out loud over the lit candle? Any particular color candle that's effective? I have lots to choose from but I always thought white or yellow was best for something like this. I believe I do have a new age shop nearby from what my neighbor told me so I'll go there first and see what they can do. I appreciate your offer to help me from a distance too. :-)

While I'm here, I know this is slightly off-topic of auras but I was wondering, do you know anything about flashes of light or sparks? A few people I've talked to see the same thing and my cat sees them too. So, I know I'm not just weird, lol. What I see is electric/metallic blue flashes real quick out of the corner of my eye or it goes right past my eyes. It's either blue or silver. One time it was a little bigger than normal and it was gold. I've asked other people about it who say they were psychic but no one seems to know what I'm talking about. Most of the time it's when I'm on the computer, other times it would be while in the tv room.

Any suggestions would be appreciated to better understand what they are. Thanks! :-)

Ask that your Guides/ Angels, whichever you feel most linked to, come in & help you with this. I would use a white candle & affirm that you are working in love and light. There is no 'set wording' these are just people who haven't managed to pass over properly at the right time & need a hand, it is an act of compassion to help them on their way. See how you get on & let us know.

On lights, I've seen them move very fast & taken them to be faery. I know it isn't just my eyesight as I've been with people who have seen them too.

I had my aura photographed at the Metaphysical Fair this weekend. The first two times it was orange (creative/artistic). The third time it was green (healing). This time it is yellow on either side (sunny disposition), and orange above my head (still creative and artistic!).
