Hey everyone!

I wanted to post this, because my husband brought my attention to something I never thought of.

Please be in special prayer for the city of New Orleans during this latest hurricane that's coming through. Since N.O. lies below sea level, if the city were to lose power, and the generators go out, then the flood pumps that keep the levys from getting flooded could theoretically stop pumping. This could mean that New Orleans would literally go under (think Atlantis). Also remember that in New Orleans all burials are in above ground vaults, because of the possibility of contamination should regular flooding occur. This would now cover those vaults opening the city to diseases.

So please pray that this city is not hit as hard as meteorologists predict, that the power does not go out, and most importantly; the water does not rise above the pumps endering them useless.

Ona much more personal (and selfish) note, my son Michael just moved to Mississippi to live with his dad. Although MS is not going to be hit NEARLY as hard as LA, please pray for my child's safety. I'm worried sick, I've never NOT had him with me in an emergency situation. I feel so helpelss.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I hadn't thought of all the repercussions of this storm. They are saying that it is going to hit very hard.

I'll also be praying for you and your son.

I live on the Gulf Coast. Everyone is upset, this is a devastating storm. There are shelters available for the people in LA and MI and AL that cannot evacuate; let us pray they go to a shelter. There is transportation available to take them to these shelters. There is nothing we can do about the below sea level situation. People need to get to a shelter and stay there, or evacuate and not come back til it is safe. There is also a major concern about inland flooding. All we can do on our end here is pray and send positive vibes and I hope like the dickens that it helps. As soon as the storm is gone help will already be on the way. <img src="/images/graemlins/fish.gif" alt="" />
