I think I would have a breast lift just because I have breastfeed 2 kids. My son did for a year and my daughter for 2 years because of her health problems. But other than that I don't think I would alter myself any.

Hah! What wouldn't I have done? No, seriously. i have wanted a nose job since I was a kid (I HATE my nose - its too broad). I would also like to "put my breast back where they began". And I would like to have the excess flesh removed from my arms. It's not just flab, that I can work off, its all the skin that's left over afterwards, i've been overweight for too long, my skin's not going back to where it was, especially not there! I'm praying I WON'T need a panniculectomy, my skin is still pretty resilient around my tummy area, so maybe that will bounce back, (but I'm not holding my breath) <img src="/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

Oh my gosh! That is a good way to state it LOL Mine used to be so perky and cute. Now I have to ask them where the heck they are going!!

i've lost about 65lbs, and now that i'm slimmer (i'm a size 14, i WAS a size 24) and the docs say i'm perfect the weight i am now (what do they know?)...... i'd get the back of my arms tucked. they are kinda.... well.... like wings on a plane, lol. only i'm not a plane!

get the boobs lifted, of course! they've always been big, but when i was so heavy, they got HUGE, and now that i'm back to a 36DD, i want them to stop pointing at my toes!

The note was about aging, & there's lots of funnies in it (& now that I've had my hysterectomy I can look forward to them all) but this one's the best:

not unless it was some kind of life or death situation...but hey, I'm only twenty and I haven't had kids yet....so I'm gonna wait to form a FULL opinion on this one

I don't think so. I'm scared to go under the knife. I'm contented with myself.

Well, I've wanted a tummy tuck since my daughter was born 22 years ago, and I'd also like a boob lift now.

I've had bad acne for the last half of my life (12 years), and I'd like some kind of laser treatment or chemical peels to clear up my face. I've also had glasses since I was 7 years old, so corrective eye surgery would be nice! Breast enlargement surgery would be nice, since I'm a B cup--and that's me being about 25 pounds overweight! My mom's an A cup, so I don't have much to look forward to. And last but not least, once I loose the rest of the weight I need to, maybe some liposuction on those stubborn areas, like my outer thighs!

i've always wanted breasts implants or a lift...but i'd probaly do it if the initial sugery didnt hurt and there was no pain/side effects or health risks and if i actually had the money....

hmmmmmmmmm - I'd go for a tuck to the back of the upper arms - yes, they're like my mom's were.

If I win the lottery, I will have my breast lifted. I would love to be able to go braless around the house. I would get rid of my mom tummy without the workout. But having anything appearance altering done, no.

I would definitley have my breasts reduced. I hate them as they are very large and they have steadily increased in size over the years to their current J cup. It would be lovely to not have to always stand behind them.

When I was younger, I wanted it, but no longer. Maybe aging brings more body confidence. The ability to watch surgeries on television has made it much more real -- not like the spa visit it can seem. A recent surgery horror story described here, http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art31822.asp, might make you rethink surgery.

That's the thing with surgery - there are always risks.

Ranging from unhappy results to actually deadly (usually due to infections or blood clots)

Although I definitely wnat some work done (see my post as musicalmom) - i will ne doing some MAJOR checking out of my doctors and the procedures before I go through with it.

One problem with everyone having surgery is that normal people will look ugly so we'll all have to have surgery to "keep up."

It's already happened with breast implants. Perfectly average women feel inadequate and want to be bigger.

Definitely not. As I have got older I thought people can take me as I am. After all beauty is only skin deep.

I don't think so - although I wouldn't rule it out and I certainly don't find fault with women who do have work done (unless they're one of those surgery addicts who have procedure after procedure after procedure). I'm still young though - 34 - I eat healthy, work out a lot, and haven't had a child, so my body hasn't changed much. Sometimes I think I'd like to have bigger boobs...(unfortunately that part of my anatomy never changed much either)...but I'm only 5'5 and small framed so if they were too big I'd probably look like I was about to fall on my face. But I've never had any kind of surgery in my life so I'd be a little skittish - and I just don't want it bad enough. I may only be able to manage cleavage with the most hardcore push up bra, but there is something to be said for being able to sleep on my stomach and go without a bra:) I certainly wouldn't rule out surgery in the future though.

This is quite a one sided point of view to me. I know! I know! There are risks to surgery but there are also risks everytime you take a plane...you never know when it's gonna come crashing down. Definitely I would have it done. I'm really sorry for these guys that their surgery messed up but they knew the risks. Like I know them too. I'm only 26 but since I couldn't have my baby let's say in the natural way, the doctors had to resort to a caesarian so now I have an enormous scar on my tummy and it's not really something I would flaunt about. And I'm quite restricted on the clothes I wear. I had to throw away a lot of my favorites clothes because they would show off my belly but I must admit they were also a bit out of size <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />.
Anyway, I'm not gonna wait for any lottery, I've already found this surgery hospital where I can afford a scar revision ...but first I'll have to convince my husband cuz believe me or not...I never do anything without his approval...guess love really makes me stupid or something but I don't regret one bit of it... <img src="/images/graemlins/lovers.gif" alt="" />

I just had major surgery on my leg--they had to pin it back together after I went water skiing a couple of weeks ago. And I had this crazy thought, while I'm under and they're taking care of that, I could just have my nose done. Ha. The things we come up with.

My nose is the only thing I'd change. I broke it twice as a teen playing sports and I have this weird bump that's really noticeable (at least to me).

I always said 'no way' until relatively recently. But then again, i was always pretty happy with the way i look. Not that i'm a supermodel or anything, but i'm happy and healthy and it shows. Anyhow, after wearing glasses for 20 years, i decided to save up for corrective surgery. When i had enough money, i went for a consultation with a really great surgeon who told me that my corneas were too thin for lasik. I was disappointed, but decided to try contacts instead. Well, they work fine for me.
BUT, after wearing glasses for years, i was shocked to see huge dark circles under my eyes. I drank more water, started eating even more healthily, and purchased some touche eclat. However, it had no effect, and 3 months later i still had the circles. Visiting my doctor, i found out that it was under-eye bags causing the circles.
So, after thinking about it long and hard (another 3 months) i decided to see a plastic surgeon. To make a long story short, i had the bags removed. The circles are gone too, and it was the best money i ever spent. I don't look younger, or prettier; i just look the way i thought i'd look without my glasses.
Don't know if i'd have anything else done; but i've found that you can never say never!

Yes. I actually just had lipo of my hips, [censored], thighs and knees (Three Weeks ago). At first I had a hard time justifying the cost but I talked it over with my husband and he said if it was going to make me feel better then I should do it. So I did.

If a surgery goes wrong, it can create havoc.

I read recently that Tara Reid had breast implants and lipo. She said she had to have surgery to fix what the first doctor messed up. Even the people we use to judge ourselves are not happy with their bodies.

I have an appointment (on Halloween no less!) for a consult about some plastic surgery. Most of it has to do with the major amount of weight I lost due to my gastric bypass. I want to have my arms worked on where I have so much skin hanging (brachioplasty) a tummy tuck, and a rhinoplasty just because I've never really like my nose, LOL!

I don't think I'm going to need the procedure called a panniculectomy - the all around "belt" tuck, my skin around my waist and back has bounced back fairly well, but after three kids and losing almost 100 lbs my stomach just is hanging. But my arms are the absolute worst - I think I might could fly if I tried really hard! <img src="/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

I can definitely see having surgery to get rid of all the excess skin -- good luck with the appointment!

Dr Phil did a really good show on plastic surgery, and he listed the 'healthy' reasons for having something done. Now of course I can't remember the best reason -- did anyone see the show? Something about doing it only for yourself, and not because others want you to. He gave another great critieria, which of course I can't remember right now!

I definitely would and plan to as soon as I can afford it. After having 3 children all weighing over 9lbs and being a small framed person, I was left with a little more extra skin on my tummy than I would like. I lost all my baby weight, I run 2 miles 4 times a week, I eat healthy, but the extra skin and stretch marks are still there. I feel that I've done everything in my power through eating right and exercise to try to bounce my body back, but the tummy is still there. I don't ever plan to look like a model. That's not my intentions. Plastic surgery is something I plan to do for myself to make myself feel better.

I don't know, that's one of my biggest questions for him is that would it be better to go under the knife just once, or would the length of surgery to have it all done at one time be a bigger risk (being under anesthesia that long)?

I worked as a surgical tech for a few years before my daughter (2nd child) was born, around '95 - '97. So I'm pretty familiar and comfortable with the thought of surgery and what goes on. AND the techniques have come a long way in just that short a period of time! Plus I've researched this surgeon pretty well. He's a very upstanding surgeon not only in his field as a professional- but also as a member of the community here in Atlanta. I couldn't really answer this question as a definite one or the other. At the moment I think my answer would be no, I wouldn't...yet if something drastic were to happen to me that altered my natural looks, such as (heaven forbid) a car accident, then I would certainly be open to plastic surgery. I'm 49 years old, and parts of my body have been making a mad dash south without the rest of me for the past few years now. My face, I've noticed in the past year, has been becoming more defined with age lines. I also inherited - from my dad - bags under the eyes, which adds to an 'aged' look (thanks, Dad <img src="/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />). Sometimes I look at these things and think - very briefly - it would be nice to be able to change some of it. But then I remind myself of something I once heard; that the lines and wrinkles are all a part of me...a history of my life experience that I wear. And so it doesn't really bother me to let it show. Mind you, I suppose I'd probably go to the salon and have any gray hair concealed if it were to show up, but beyond that, I guess I accept the rest of the aging process. However, my sister - who is 4 years younger than me - has a lot of gray hair starting to appear, but she says she will never have it covered over. So really, it all comes down to a matter of personal preference.

Pinning my ears where they should be would be the only plastic surgery I would get but at my age I don't think I ever will (used to bother me when i was young but not anymore). If I ever get in an accident or I am a victim of a crime then I would get reconstructive surgeries if need be but that's it. I refuse to risk it.

I have had several plastic surgeries done. Last one was on my eyelids. They drooped and it made me worry about my peripheral vision. What if I didn't see something coming up and I wiped out a school bus full of kids? So I had the eyelids done. Five years ago I also had my cheeks pulled to the side a bit to get rid of some wrinkles.

That depends. I feel that plastic surgery is often abused. There are times when it's necessary, such as after a tragic accident or birth defect, but it should still fall within some sort of sound intellectual framework.

I have had several procedures done. I had my eyelids done because at my age they were getting droopy. This interfered with my peripheral vision. Since I drive, I was worried about maybe wiping out a school bus full of kids!
I also had a tuck because I had a gastric bypass and have lost 210 pounds. My old 'bread basket' was really hanging and it had to go.
I had my nose done because I had always thought it was too wide. That nose had always bugged me and now I'm happy with my new nose.
I thought I would get my boobs done after I lost the weight but surprisingly they look pretty darn good.
