Hola!

July's book, "El principito" is a nice book a read a looot of years ago! But I still adore it and, as this is a book known worldwide, I thought it would be great if we could apply our Spanish knowledge to it.

What do you think?

Have you read the English version? Did you like it?

Do you think it's a book for children or....?

For those interested in this book, if you can't find it at your local stores, feel free to buy it here:

"El principito" by Antoine de Saint-Exupry, Bonifacio Carril

As this is a long book, I think we could spend 2 months reading it, right?

If you still haven't got the book, don't worry if you find more posts about it, as you can always join them, during these next 2 months (July and August 2005) or at any time!

Hope to hear soon of you, and of course, if you have any idea about how to study / read it, it will be welcome!

Hola Angie,

No problem at all; although we have 1 book every month / 2 months, if any of you haven't finished any of them, don't worry, as the corresponding topics are still open and we can always post, no matter which book you're reading now, ok?

I've realized that maybe 1 month won't be enough so, from "El Principito", each book will take 2 months.

Hola Angie,

No, in fact it could be a bit complicated for beginners... Well, if you have been reading "The ugly duckling", imagine "El Principito" with more vocabulary and different verbs / tenses, not just present and past tenses.

For those who consider themselves beginners, I'd propose you the reading of the above mentiones book, "The ugly duckling" (June book), but if you are brave <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> and don't mind posting lots of questions here, go and read it! Be sure I'll try to help you as much as possible.

By the way... I've been thinking about the possibility of meeting let's say one hour per week or bi-weekly, at the bella chat, probably on weekends, to talk about these books.

What do you think?

Angeles,

You should ignore my question in the other forum -- it was premature. I think you are talking about The Little Prince for July? I'm not going to find that in Spanish anytime soon-- though I've read it in French! What is the book for August?

Gracias!

Hi again, Khara!

No problem, as we have 2 months (July and August) for "El principito" (The little prince). This way, we'll all have time to read it. In fact, we realized that 1 months was not enough, as there are still some people who have not finished past books. So, as I told you before, read the book you prefer, as all forums are open. There is not limit in time, ok?

If you are interested in "El principito", there is a link to buy it at Amazon, at the begining of this page (first post).

Hope to hear soon from you,
