I'll go first: I own Smart Marketing Works! and help people grow their businesses with creative and strategic marketing consulting and coaching. I opened this business just this year after the hotel where I was Director of Sales & Marketing was sold. It was a perfect opportunity to finally DO it!

I love it! Helping people realize their business goals by sharing my knowledge, skills & experience is very fulfilling, someitmes challenging and almost always fun.

I have had a home-based business for over 10 years. I sell Watkins products. My mother used their vanilla and lemon extracts, my dad used the liniments and such when I was a young girl. When I was looking for a home business I was surprised to see that Watkins was still going strong. It seemed right because I knew so much about the products. I really do enjoy it and when I tell people what I do they many say *My goodness, I did not know that Watkin's was still around* or my mother/grandmother used to use that <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> This often leads to a new customer or they have a mother or grandmother call me I like that about this business.

Yep--I am one of those people who always have biz catalogs in their purse.

Hello, I own a small home-based business, as a matter of fact, it is a business I can run from anywhere. I am a political scientist/writer and I travel inside and outside the US and take my business with me wherever I go: my business is just me and my laptop (ok, I also need Internet access, but even that is no longer a problem). I have run this business for almost 4 years now and I LOVE it.

Hello Everyone!

My name is Carol Anne, and I guess you can say I fell into my little at home side business LOL.

It began with a tradition that my mother and myself have. As with many women, we both lead very hectic lives, and decided that for one week every year we would take off. Just go away to a little restful spot, just the two of us, no responsibilities, no one to answer to, just total peace!

Last year we opened a savings account just for this trip. To get it started good and proper I gathered all my old books, movies and CDs and headed over to half.com. The amount of money we got for it was just unreal! When we sold through we decided we had to get more to sell.

So now in addition to bonding on our trip we spend weekends together hitting yard sales and flea market, seeing parts of the state we never even knew existed! We have done our research on keeping our packaging expenses down, and are looking into ways to bring in new customers.

Our inventory is now at approx. 55 movies, 65 Cds and over 500 books, and growing every days!

I just want to say thank you for all the wonderful ideas that this forum has given me, it is greatly appreciated!

Best of luck to all you ladies!

XOXOXO
~Carol Anne

Hello Everyone!

I started my Mary Kay business about 7 years ago and I tell people all the time I have fun playing in makeup!:) I have found this business very rewarding for me and meet so many women I can help feel good on the inside and out.

It has been a blessing for my family that I can work from home and be rewarded with prizes, cars and of course my personal sales. But above all that I can make a difference in this world:)

Our company was created with one objective: to provide an open-ended opportunity for women. Quite simply, our company encourages building a successful business while living a balanced life - a philosophy that continues to thrive after 42 years. Today, the latest developments in Web technology and online shopping allow our Independent Beauty Consultants to serve their millions of customers worldwide with personalized service and efficient delivery of products.
From the beginning, our company has been on the cutting edge in product technology, business opportunities and responsible corporate citizenry. It is this approach that gives this company a solid foundation for success for the new millennium.

The company product line includes more than 200 premium products in six categories: facial skin care, color cosmetics, nail care, body care, sun protection and fragrance.

Our company is one of the largest direct sellers of skin care and color cosmetics in the world, achieved another year of record results in 2005, reaching nearly $2 billion in wholesale sales.

I'm sending everyone many blessings for a successful New Year!
Leslie
