We were out shopping yesterday and stopped at a place to look at perenials. We figured they would be 1/2 price already (as the temps are reaching 100 here in Oklahoma). They had some beautiful hot pink coreopsis but it was $18 for a gallon container! Yikes!! Too much for me. We went indoors to the greenhouse and checked out their clearance table and ended up rescuing 2 orchids (one was originally $23, the other $15), a boston fern, a palm and a calathea. All this for $3.25. Connie

That sounds great. I have also already hit the clearance racks at Lowe's. Did pretty good with several geraniums, shasta daisies and a large pot with a variety of plants in it.

We went back this week and purchased some black-eyed susans for the yard (unfortunately not on clearance!). They were $4.39 a gallon container. I didn't think that was a bad price. We got a clearance mum for $0.15...I have a bed of mums and couldn't pass that one up! Connie

Yesterday we got a huge yucca plant (originally $17) for $2! Hubby was less than thrilled over having to dig a new hole! It has 5 babies tagging along in the pot.

Lowes is a treasure trove of markdowns during seasonal transitions...also with ANY store, esp. the major discounters and even local garden centers, keep watch on the DATE on your mailbox flyers from them....at the end of a "sale", they usually do markdowns on plants....

Happy Gardening! <img src="/images/graemlins/rolling.gif" alt="" />
