BellaOnline Forums Family Moms Any experience with Co Abode?

I found the site last year and have posted a profile but never did pay the membership. I have received several emails from the owner of the site looking for people in the Los Angeles area for various media outlets. I have no idea how they do their advertising, but it seems to be getting into the print and news media. Maybe that is how I found them!

Anyway I would like to know if anyone is a paid member and has made a match with another single mom family.

Basically co-abode is - Single Mothers House sharing. You could either be the owner of a home with space looking for a specific family type or a single family seeking a place to live.

I really like the idea, but with two children who have autism I am not sure anyone would want to share with us, unless they also have a child or children with special needs.

It is such a great idea too bad that there is not something specifically geared to the special needs families = just like dating they could have house sharing for Moms.

I don't know of anyone, personally, either although I remember when they first started up and membership was free for awhile. It seemed totally legit, really cool and a great way to live for single Moms.

When I was single with a toddler, I managed to find another Mom who was going through a divorce and needed to rent out her walkout basement in order to keep the house. It worked out really well for awhile but it wasn't without its own issues. I've found that it can be really difficult to co-exist with different parenting styles (I thought ours were a great match until I moved in).

If Co-Abode does a better job at matching up single Moms, I bet it will be a very successful program.
