I have a question for everyone. What would you say, do, think about someone who would say the following? "I am a natural 100%, Salem, Ma five generation born and raised 'good witch.' I assume you are the 'other kind,' the weaker one..(if at all)." Personally my first reaction was LMAO and nearly dropping my laptop. What does geographical locations have to do with being a Witch? I understand about being a hereditary witch. That means that a person is taught Witchcraft by a parent, close relative, or guardian. However, I do not believe that there is a "Witchcraft" gene that can be passed down from one generation to another. And what "other kind" of witch could this person be referring to? A "bad witch" or an "evil witch." And do they believe that because they are "good" and I am "evil" I am the weaker witch? *shakes head* I sometimes really don't understand people. I really don't. I am so not a people person. Sorry folks, thinking out of my head again.

gw/bw sounds like a distinction that the brothers grimm need to constitute a story line....or steven speilburg...
True, being from salem mass doesnt make you any better of a witch than one in salem oregon, but it does have the historical tie. Sounds like being the from the 'wrong or right side of the tracks' type of thing tho... And one should point out that according to history, the said witches that were prosecuted in salem mass were 'bad' witches, having used spells, curses and the like to cause children to have fits and livestock to die.

On the contrary. The Salem, MA Witch Trials never involved real Witches. The fact of the matter is that those who were accused of being Witches were not real Witches, but rather Puritans. They were Christians just like their accusers. The Salem Witch Trials were a result of mass hysteria. Pure and simple. The only Historical value that Salem MA has is that the Puritans were killing Puritans believing unjustly that they were witches. So I do not take kindly to the commercialism surrounding modern day Salem, MA and those who claim to be descendants of Salem Witches.

Yes, I know of the pursecution and prosecution of individuals in Salem, MA. I live less than an hour away in NH, been there several times and was force fed all kinds of 'history' about it in grade school...particularily around Samhain. To the general commercialised public they were 'bad witches'. Sorry for any confusion in my previous post.
