Let the first one that have not sin cast the first stone..

Is there anyone who is sin free? Have never did any wrong? There is no such thing as a little sin and big sin either..that is not biblical teaching...

There is a story in the Bible of a woman that was taken to Jesus that was caught in adultery.

Her accusers were there.

When Jesus asked one question...what happened?

Jesus looked up and I do believe that he asked the woman caught in adultery, where was her accusers.

For they were all gone.

He told the woman to go and sin no more.

Hi Angela,
I'm new to the website (which I guess you can tell from my little name thingy on the side there) Anyway, I'm not really sure how your board works. Are these topics for discussion, or are you just putting out thoughts for the day type stuff. I am Baptist, but I've been studying a lot of the other religions because I have found it comes in handy when witnessing someone of a different faith. (Right now it is a very good friend who is an atheist- He is tough, please keep him in your prayers, his name is Nosh)

But anyway, my comment on this one was, not only is there no difference between big or little sins (a fib is just as bad as a murder, and both can be forgiven just as easily by God), but even the thought is a sin, if what i understand is true. I don't mena like a passing thought that we dismiss, Satan temptes us with those all the time, but ones that we sit and ponder, like really stewing because our neighbor got a new car and we still have to drive a '95.

What do you think?

I believe that one could bend the 'thou shalt not covet thy neighbors wife' to thou neighbors belongings...and whats wrong with a well kept 95?

Yours is well kept?! Mine's been cheerio'd and koolaid'd. So I guess I'd even be coveting your '95.
Seriously, In both Exodus 20:17 & Deuteronomy 5:21 it says to not covet way more than just the neighbor's wife, it also includes: house, field, ox, donkey, servant, "or anything that is your neighbor's". People just tend to forget that last part (conveniently) and forget to teach it, because it is so hard to do. I was using the English Standard Version of the Bible, but it also said it in the New King James version, the American Standard Version, and the New Living Translation (Quickverse is an awesome program)!

If you notice from the story, only the woman was brought before Jesus. Where was the MAN that was caught with her? Jesus knew this was a trap set for Him. You cannot fool God. As Christians, we are allowed to judge sin but not the sinner. Jesus told her in the end, " Go and sin no more." What she did was wrong but Jesus wanted to save her, not condemn her. Judgement comes from God at the end of the age. Until then, God will try to save everyone. We should be centered on salvation too, rather than judgement.
