Please read the passage.
Vs. 1- 2 .....How are we to imitate God? How is Christ an example of what Paul asks of us?
Vs.3-7 .....What has no place in the Christian's life? And what should have a place?
Vs. 8-14 .....How do you 'personally' know that you are a child of the light?
Vs. 15-21 .....What are the characteristics of someone who is filled with the spirit?

*How are we to imitate God? Love and serve others. Christ is the example of loving and gave Himself as a sacrifce.
* No hint of sexual immorality or impurity, greed, obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking. There should be thanksgiving.
*Knowing for me is hard to explain. I know because I feel the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
*Speak to one another with psalms, hymn. and spiritual songs. sing and make music in your heart to the Lord - always giving thanks to God for everything. submit to one another out of reverance for Christ.

1. Yes I think that is how we are supposed to imitate God. Loving and serving others is harder than it sounds -- if we are to do it the way Christ did.
2.The list given in Ephesians seems pretty straight-forward. He says that there isn't to be any hint of it. Not even a little bit!
3. Razorannie, I think that it is hard to explain for anyone. And I know by the same sign that you do. Prompting by the Holy Spirit. I can also see the huge change in me since I became a believer.
4. I wish someone would speak to me with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs! I've always been fond of that verse. I think that it tells us to always be praising God and to be cheerful towards each other. Don't let worry get us bogged down.

I "know" because I believe God's word and His word tells us that if we have repented of our sins and have asked Jesus to be Lord of our lives then we are saved and set apart. That's how I know. By trusting God's word. The prompting of the Holy Spirit (for me) is not confirmation... (I don't need confirmation, as I fully trust God's word) but the prompting of the Holy Spirity is the "icing" on the cake so to speak. -Jenny

Lynne, I bet you HAVE been spoken to with Psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. You've just never thought about it before.
Have you ever been in church singing a praise song and felt that warmth in your hear that built so you HAD to raise your hands or you might explode?
Have you ever been driving, and they play a song on the radio that touches you so much you have to pull over because you are crying? (i have called in to our local station & "fussed" at them about this. They played "Christmas Shoes" during Atlanta ruch hour traffic!- can you say driving hazard?)
Or have you ever been in the middle of doing anything and "Sweet Hour of Prayer" or "Amazing Grace" or "How Great Thou Art" just pops into your head?
That's speaking to you sister!
Michelle Taylor Why me? What did I do to deserve this? (go on, ask)
