I've got quite a few films in Polish on vhs and dvd - AKCJA POD ARSENALEM, BEZ KONCA, CZLOWIEK Z MARMURU, CZLOWIEK Z ZELAZA, DEKALOG, KANAL, KORCZAK, KRAJOBRAZ PO BITWIE, PAN TADEUSZ, PRZESLUCHANIE, PSY, REKOPIS ZNALEZIONY W SARAGOSSIE, TRYLOGIA (OGNIEM I MIECZEM, POTOP, PAN WOLODYJOWSKI), ZIEMIA OBIECANA....

I was hoping to get Wajda's war trilogy (Pokolenie, Kanal, Popiol i diament) on dvd when I was in Poland last month but couldn't find them anywhere....

My answers relate to the UK, but I do not know whether that interests you. I watch a restricted amount of TV: the three main 'soap' serials - Emmerdale, Coronation Street and East Enders; always the 2200h News and Weather; any history or pre-history programmes, either on the normal channels or digital UKHistory; and that's about it. I prefer listening to the radio because I can do other things when that, rather than TV, is on. Otherwise I'm reading (just about anything!) or using the computer.
I do watch and enjoy, more than current programmes, repeats of the ones you mentioned and some others.
Pozdrawiam

Gardening programmes, history programmes and the news. A comedy news quiz called Have I got News for You if I'm around and not much else except for tennis -which isn't often on and Ray Mears Survival series.

I watch some of the Spanish programming on TVE and the Sci-Fi channel. Very, very rarely I check out some of the alphabet networks and there are a lot of History channels.

I have quit my cable over a year ago and was left with no TV signal for a long time. Then one day I hooked up a wire into the back of my TV set and now I am enjoing only one program or if I turn the thing around patiently I get local station as well. Being relatively television free is something I would recommend. This thing is so hard to control; in fact you can not control it. I watch daily TV news on computer and here I can go fast forward over some stupid topics I don't want to hear about and also due to smaller screen I feel more in control over news talking heads. Then thera are times I simply wish I had a cable and could see what they are saying in the box. My sport addiction I have solved by going bars for soccer games and it worked out just perfect. It took some time to find one where ppl would focus on game and not talk over but now I am among soccer crazy during the games and enjoying it.
Reytan Wajda movies are easy to get over the Internet.
I recommend new a last year movie called Wesele (Wedding)
With time it will be a cult classic like the ones you mention. BTW I love Saragossa manuscript movie. I can watch it over and over again. Do you know it was (G)Jerry Garcia
of.....the well known US rock band (I forgot its name) who paid for copy restoration and promoted it on US market where is still played from time to time in small movie houses; Along with Seksmisja and Wajda's films.

*Being relatively television free is something I would recommend.

=> Seconded! I hardly watch tv at all - it's amazing just how much time the average person spends not only watching the tv, but then discussing what they've been watching the next day....

*Reytan Wajda movies are easy to get over the Internet.

=> yes - but they're much more expensive than in Poland!

=> the band was called the Grateful Dead. I agree it's a great movie that you can watch again and again....
