i have long hair. i am not going blad or anything, but i swear, i leave hair everywhere. it is all over my clothes. all day i am constantly picking hairs off of myself. and i leave hair whereever i sit, or lay,..couches, chairs, beds,.... i am worse than a cat or dog.i can brush my hair and look down and there will be my hair, in the bathroom sink, and the floor. and when i shower,..i ALWAYS leave hair in the shower. i spend more time picking up my hair all day, than i do anything else.

can anyone tell me what is wrong with me? and can anyone advise me on how to make it stop... (without actually having to shave my head), but i am almost THAT desperate

My younger sister and a former housemate of mine both "shed" a lot. In both cases, each of them has really, really thick hair. And with the former housemate, it was pink, purple and black hairs that were found all over....

To the best of my knowledge, some people just shed a lot of hairs. Yeah, you wind up having to vacuum a lot and the drain gets clogged often, but it's not something that really can be controlled or stopped.

You might consider wearing your hair shorter as that will make for shorter shed hairs all over. Plus if your hair is really long the weight might be contributing to the hairs dropping. That was my sister's case. She sheds less with shoulder-length hair than she did when it was down to the middle of her back.

As Rae said, the longer your hair, the more hair you will find. - You may shed just as much if you have short hair but it won't look like as much.

I also find that people shed more with some seasons than others. Just like my cat!

Thank you. I took that picture on Lido Beach in Florida. It's where I walk every morning when we vacation.

I have thick blonde/grey hair, the older I have gotten, the more I shed. However, there is more inside waiting to pop out, that is the important thing. And after I wash my hair, I notice more shedding. Some days I am ahead, other days my cats are. If I am going somewhere, I just try to brush any loose ones out before they get a mind of their own.

I had good chuckle over cissie's posting. I also "shed" like crazy, and had almost exactly the same thoughts about it until I realized I still had plenty of hair on my head!

But something else occured to me...With curly hair, brushing or combing it out just makes it frizzy, so I'm more apt to "finger brush" it or use an afro pick. With frequent brushing, the loose hairs end up in your hairbrush, but when you don't brush a lot, they find other places to land...

I have to say, I DO get tired of finding little "hair nests" on my clothes and around the house!!

They say we can shed over one-hundred hairs a day! That's obviously a lot more noticeable when it's loooong hair. But I also realized that when I wear my hair curly, the hair doesn't shed as easily, instead it winds up as a huge ball in the shower, fun right?! ahh... the price we pay for having long hair. *smile*
