In practice of interpretation of dreams it is possible to allocate two basic such as interpretation to which it can be reduced:
1. Descending - descends to personal experience сновидца and work with this experience (problems, experiences, traumatic situations etc.). It is search of personal senses in dream, personal values of each of images, and work with these contents.
2. Ascending - goes back to arhetyps, to scripts of dream, tactics and strategy of behaviour in dream etc.
Both these lines of interpretation are perfectly combined, and allow not only to understand artful designs of a plot of dream, its personal value for seeing dream but also to build certain notions about a possible(probable) line of development of a plot of dream, images of development seeing dream and so forth.

I do keep a few references around and will look up archetypes when necessary. I prefer to use intuition.
I am not sure I can explain. I simply open myself and "listen." I get a feeling in my solar plexus area, and this is where I hear and feel messages. They come in the form of a "thought flow" but the thoughts are not from my head. I am typically 95% correct.
Sometimes the querent doesn't agree with or "get" the interpretation. I find that these are people who don't want to interpret their own dreams and want someone else to "read" them. With any form of divination, the message may not be cut and dried and may occur in the future as well.
