Hi All,

Acupressure is a great remedy for what ails you. Who's tried it, for what, and with what results?

I've used it for bladder urgency, digestive problems, dizziness, and more...

Let's share what we know.

Best,

Carolyn

Would it work for eczema and would the actual acupressure or maybe I am thinking of acupuncture cause a rash for someone with eczema?

Is there an article on the site explaining the differences between these two procedures?

Hi Bonnie,

Acupuncture uses needles and sometimes herbs. For acupressure, you use your hands, and sometimes feet. There are many kinds---shiatsu, high touch, etc.

The Chinese believe eczema is due to blockages in the bladder, lung, and large intestine flows. Let's just take the lung High Touch Acupressure. Hold three fingers of one hand on the top of your other arm until you feel a balanced, equal pulsation in each of your fingers. That's the sensation you wait for with each spot. Use both hands at the same time for each spot. Breathe in your abdomen and relax. You can do this with the other person lying down, or standing, but I find it easier when the person is sitting in a straightbacked chair.

Let me know how it works!

Best,

Carolyn

First spot: middle of collarbones on front of body

Second spot: middle of last ribs, on front of body, both sides

Third spot: middle of upper arms on the back side

Fourth spot: in the fat pads of both thumbs (on palm side)

Fifth spot: on the back where the neck attaches to the shoulders in line with the ears

Sixth spot: middle of collarbones again

Seventh spot: a hand's breadth below the middle of the collarbones on both sides
