One day my boss was eating at the same restaurant with a friend. He picked up my bill for giving a "good example" to everyone by reading even during lunch.<G> His friend still burbles about his "intelligent" workers. Naw, just a real reader. For me, reading is an escape from the thinking world and into a fantasy one. It's a vacation from real-life cares, not necessarily a sign that I am one of the intelligensia.<G> (But it doesn't mean that I'm not, either.)
Happy reading,
Mary Ellen
Ho Ho, your boss is too funny. What a great story. But I think I understand his thinking. Very often worker's are seen to represent the whole office. I'll bet that your boss was beaming then and now!
Hey--you know that we all need a vacation from life's mundane. And that books are an excellent way to do it. I say that makes you and the rest of us who escape for short times by reading
