Killing Terrie Schiavo accomplishes nothing!

Are we saying that those who are handicapped are less worhty of dignity and love?

I certainly hope the Court of Appeals has more of a heart and a better conscience than the one who ruled that starving to death a woman whose only crime was that she can't speak for herself is "OK".

I ask the Lord to save Terrie if you feel the same way I do chime in!! Let your voice be heard....

This is a very touchy subject with everyone. I personally would not want my husband or family to let me live this way. That is why it is important for everyone to make a Living Will so if, Gods forbid, something like this were to happen to you, everyone will know your wishes and it will have to be done because it is a legal document.

She is in a vegetative state because her heart stopped due to a chemical imbalance induced by an eating disorder. I really really hope and pray that people suffering with eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia really pay attention to this case to see one of the many complications associated with eating disorders. And I hope the media who hypes up the thin is in craze that has been going on since the 60's see what eating disorders can do to a person!

I can see why people are debating on keeping her alive and I can see the point of people wanting to let her go.

Experts and talking heads were pontificating on TV as if they were qualified to make rational decisions about life or death, for others, mostly arguing with great self-assurance that Terri should die. There's no documentation of a living will, so no way to prove what she wanted. It's a judgement call whether to trust her husband or her parents in this case. No one knows what she is feeling, some say that she communicates. Give her the benefit of the doubt. The tube was in and it was working; let her live as long as she can.

Terri's Ordeal Compared to Christ's Crucifixion

From what I have read and heard about the case, she didn't have a living will. THere has also been a lot of talk that her husband has an alterior motive for wanting to let her go. I think that is sad that there are these accuzations floating around like that but in the state of our world today it doesn't surprise me.

This recalls the ordeal of Jesica Santillan who died after a botched transplant operation, immediately prior to 'Shock and Awe' in early 2003. In ancient times a victim, often a woman, was sacrificed on the eve of battle. So the 'sacrifice' of Terri Schindler points toward a US/Israeli strike on Iran, later this year.

Bush seems to be quietly washing his hands of this affair, staying in character as Pontius Pilate in this passion play of Holy Week.

hog wash!! Human sacrifice is not the issue...human dignity and life is the issue...regardless of how it happened who here is qualified to judge another persons life? No one only God.

I'm tired of people just analizing the "situation" as if what ever is happening it could never happen to them. I pray daily for this woman who is starving to death slowly. This is cruel and anyone who isn't affected by this is just heartless.

Whatever happens in her case, I will continue to think the way I do and if it is offensive to someone then too bad...remember that if it was you lieing in a vegetative state unable to care for yourself and you were being slowly starved to death, I would feel the same way about the value of your life.

Maybe nobody else does, but I find meaning in the fact that this is happening now. Talking heads are predicting that the Supreme Court will vote 'no', in effect condemning her to death. It seems that a 'judgement of Solomon' is needed here, but in the end it may be a judgement of Pilate. 1:44 am -- the 'Jury' is still out.

I am deeply deeply saddened that the court has given their permission for this man to kill his wife. That's what it is in my opinion. If she had some rehabilitative therapy she probably wouldn't even need that feeding tube.

I base this opinion by looking at my father. He was in a car accident in 1981 and died for over 2 minutes. They brought him back. He spent 7 days in a deep coma. After he woke up, we were told he would be a vegetable for the rest of his life. The doctor's told us he would never get out of the bed and walk, he would never be able to function outside of his hospital bed and would require round the clock care for the rest of his life.

Three years later my father left the hospital, walking, talking and a little different. He has brain damage - a small portion of his brain was actually sheared off. He walks a little funny because the one leg was so badly broken in so many places and rehab didn't start soon enough due to his other injuries.

He did take care of my grandparents for years and years until they died. That doesn't seem like something a vegetable could do. The so-called experts were wrong.

This woman is not on a ventilator, she's awake, nurses have been interviewed saying they've heard her speak - which vegetable in the garden does any of those things? None! So how can they say it's ok to kill this woman? It's not.

Fox News Alert says that 'Supreme Court Denies'. Yesterday evening Pat Buchanan said that the president should issue an order seizing Terri and putting her under federal protective custody. He could do this; no one would stop him. It would be like what Clinton did for Elian Gonzalez in April 2000.

This is all unfolding like the gospel narratives of the crucifixion -- inexorably as if predestined, or 'that the word of the prophet might be fulfilled.' Capital punishment in the Roman way was also a painful death involving dehydration, hence the 'hyssop' or vinegar-soaked sponge for relief. But when the children tried to bring water to Terri they were handcuffed. 'We are an empire now', Judaea to Rome as Florida to Washington. Meanwhile on schedule, 3 carrier battle groups steam toward the Persian Gulf.

It's so sad. The whole drama surrounding this has just run me ragged....I think we all wish we could have known what her opinion was on this issue. Her parents believed she wanted to live, that there was hope of her recovery; her husband disagreed and believed that he knew she would not want to continue in this fashion and that there was no hope of recovery to a "normal" life.

In the end, I think God is answering and is going to take her home. Sometimes it's not fair. Sometimes we can fight the good fight and still seem to lose. She touched many lives and made us think about the dignity of human life and the value of human life. Terrie Shiavo made me see others through God's eyes as valuable and worthwhile people. Maybe this is the lesson in her death for all of us.

Terrie has died... prayers and love are with her family...

I pray that she was saved. I also pray that her husband repents and gives his life to Christ.
