Eric, you're younger. A few years ago when I d/l any music I could, I ran into some russian hip-hop (I'm not too big a fan of hip hop in general), but this song I enjoyed even though I didnt understand it. It was by "Derevo Zhizni" and it was called "Depresiya". I was wondering if you knew anything about it or could find me some information. The latin alphabet is no help.

"Derevo zhizni" ("The tree of life") is certainly not the kind of music I like. Actually, people say my musical tastes are for someone who should be considerably older than I am! <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Hip-hop is something that I actually detest.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find any websites for "Derevo zhizni" online. Maybe it's a group that just doesn't exist anymore?

I suspected as much from your other posts. I too don't like hip-hop, but for some reason, that one song always comes to mind. I've only been able to find it once after I had it on my computer, but it didn't want to download. Thank You anyway.

Yes, Stnislaw Staszewski, KAZIK's father is well known. He was one of the most outstanding poets or 'singing poets', bards in the '50 and '60. THe CD by KAZIK entitled Tata Kazika is in toto composed of his father's songs. Stanislaw Staszewski was a talented artist/cartoonist as well

thanks for the info about Kazik - I've got that song on a tape somewhere but haven't listened to it for years.

I remember a great Polish band called One Million Bulgarians. I wonder what happened to them....

Thank You for the information. I actually plan on buying Kazik's new CD when I'm in Poland. Also two other CD's from Golec uOrkiestra and anything else I can get my hands on.

Do you like punk rock? So, there's great polish punk rock band called "cool kids of death". They're young guys from Lodz. And it's their first album:

I don't listen much to polish music because I have somewhat.. odd music taste. I refer to it as to bands with yelling women as vocalists. That means, I like classical female voices, and the quite interesting thing is that they often sing in metal bands. My favourite is Nightwish, they're from Finland.
A polish band- Herjalf, they're undergorund but they vocalist is great. There are some mp3's to download from their site: www.herjalf.metal.pl I recommend Stary Smok and W Majestacie Mrozu. Tell me what do you thnk about them. But I warn you, if you don'tlike operatic voices, you will probably don't like it
