When making tuna salad leave it a bit chunky and add a few minced water chestnuts and some grated fresh ginger. This is so good when you put a bit on water crackers

That sounds wonderful. I love different things to do with tuna salad.
I just had a really good tuna salad sandwich at Panera Bread Company. ( a resturant near here.) I want to find out their recipe.

There is one near me also. I love Panera I have never had their tuna sandwich though--I will have to try.

Lynn I keep those really small cans of tuna for when I want just a snack. You can do a real quickie salad by adding mayo and sweet pickle relish or Hellman's sandwich spread. I always add Coleman's dry mustard and a dash of hot pepper sauce cuz I like spicy stuff

The addition of ginger sounds great -- it probably cuts down on the fishiness a little. Thanks for the suggestion!

You are welcome and yes the ginger does cut down on the fishiness. I like Albacore tuna, it is not quite as fishy as dark tuna. I can eat Albacore just as it comes from the can with just a little black pepper and have often done so while sitting in front of my pc.

Yeah, Albacore is definitely better. Have you tried the StarKist flavored tuna pouches (I think they're called Tuna Creations or something)? They are really easy -- pre-"marinated" and no need to drain. They are expensive, though, and have a LOT of sodium. I like your recipe better
