As a child I used to experience deja vu. I did not know what to call it and I never, ever told anyone. Actually it was scary to me. Things would happen and I would sit there thinking "this feels like it happened already" I felt like I was in a dream--very unnerving for a kid. As I got older, those feelings mostly disappeared, but once in a while

I got curious and did a search on a site called How Stuff Works, this is what it says:

Quote:
The term dj vu is French and means, literally, "already seen." Those who have experienced the feeling describe it as an overwhelming sense of familiarity with something that shouldn't be familiar at all. Say, for example, you are traveling to England for the first time. You are touring a cathedral, and suddenly it seems as if you have been in that very spot before. Or maybe you are having dinner with a group of friends, discussing some current political topic, and you have the feeling that you've already experienced this very thing -- same friends, same dinner, same topic.

What do you think about deja vu? ever experienced it?

I think deja vu is a remembrance of what we viewed before incarnating. That is, before we choose which body/personality will best suit us for an incarnation, we view some things on a "screen" on the other side. (This is detailed in the books by Dr. Michael Newton).

And yes, I've experienced it many times

Thanks. I hope to get to the library today, I will look for Dr. Newton's books. I recalled this because I was thinking of a dear friend who swore that I was 'sent' to her to replace her very dear friend who had died a year or so before. I would do things, and time and again she would say "My Sharon did that or I already know that." Early on in our friendship I mentioned that I was taking some kind of business class, my friend snapped "so what's new? you are always taking some kind of class" except she had no way of knowing what I did or did not do. It was true that I am a forever learner, I still take classes. After that we started talking about deja vu and other things. She made a list of her friends likes, dislikes, etc. even down to her love of Sesame sticks and asked me to look at it. Her friend and I were almost the same one for one; and I adore Sesame sticks.

Life is forever intriguing isn't it?

WOW! Janet I never thought of de' ja vu in that respect, but you could have apoint there.
When I first moved here from MA, Thanksgiving of 2004, I had De'ja'vu all the time...I have always met people and said dont I know you? you seem familiar to me? or a feeling of comfort from them. Like I had known them before. Whether they ended up having a positive or negative influence in my life or even a minute impact. So most of my de'ja' vu is thru people. not things or places.

I think most people have experienced it. Recently it happened, again, and kind of bothered me. I ordered a small Our Lady of Guadalupe medal to put at my daughter's gravesite at the mausoleum. In my mind flashed a picture of me putting the medal on the site, and I got the feeling of deja vu. This made me very unhappy. Surely I have not gone through this before. And hopefully she has not either. And..in my mind's picture I was reaching UP to put the medal on the granite, but she is not up. Up is where some man is buried that I do not know, but I am thinking maybe I am supposed to put something at his burial site, and that could be why I saw myself reaching Up. I do not think he gets many visitors.
