I am trying to enter Graduate School in my late 40's - I am feeling resistance from people to be references for me. Apparently people don't want to lose me as a volunteer while I attend Grad School. I will need 5 references for Grad School and 5 more to hopefully get a Grad Assistantship (need that to pay for school). I think I will need to start over in getting references - but definitely don't have many years to spend reestablishing myself to get them. Any ideas?
