Hey Everyone!

I wanted to share the Zen quote I posted in the Wellness Newsletter this week.

People become what they expect themselves to become. - Mahatma Gandhi

This quote has really helped me to stay mindful of the power of manifestation, be it conscious or subconscious. In the same way that you are what you eat, you also are what you think:)!

How does this quote strike you? Has it rung true in your life? Please do share:)!

peace and good vibes,
Leah :music:

Hi Leah,
I've just signed up for the Newsletter! Can't wait to get the first edition!
People become what they expect themselves to become....... hmmmmmmm, interesting thought!
I think it's true to a certain degree. It's not something that's true all the time, in every situation and for everyone - but then, what is?!
But especially in situations when you're not sure of yourself, not self-conscious enough, when you're thinking that you don't know your stuff and everyone's gonna find out (say when you have to do a presentation and aren't prepared properly) then that's exactly how others will see you.
I think that the more certain you are of your own abilities the less people will doubt you, as a general rule anyway.
On the other hand, simply believing in yourself doesn't make things happen on its own...
Definitely food for thought, Leah, thank you!

i try to live sub-concieously, id recomend it but it is very difficult, self-conceous to me is to close to selfish.

whats the diff between self esteem and confidence?

also if youve ever heard of the self fulfilling prochecy, it basically states that you are what others make of you, in those terms i hope i am correct.

Actually, a self-fulfilling prophecy is made by and fulfilled by self--which is exactly what Ghandi was talking about.

I totally agree with that quote, btw.

Whooh! What a busy week I've had:)! I finally have time to say hello again;).

Thanks Babaloo for signing up for the newsletter:)!

And thanks everybody for giving your thoughts on this quote:)! It's actually one of my favorites, as it's so simple and says so much.

What I think happens with your thoughts is that they align you to certain things, in other words certain things become more visible to you...So for instance, if you think negative things about yourself, you'll only see the things that reinforce that belief you have.

When the positive things happen, you'll more than likely gloss over them, so that you still only see and enhance the negative in your mind.

The same goes then for thinking positive things; you align yourself then to see the positive and this includes aligning yourself to be able to take advantage of opportunities that you might not have seen if your focus was elsewhere.

I hope that makes some kind of sense:)! In my defense, it's late here and my bed is calling:).

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

that makes alot of sense Leah and Janet, also that the self-fulfilling prophecy has to do with the self.

my only questioning to that is the classic study where they told the teacher that she was to teach a class of gifted students who were actually avg or what not, im sure you have heard that before if not ill try to explain it better.

now, is that the teacher being lied to or the students or both or niether, my point was that if possibly an avg student is not able to excel even if they intend to because they are labeled. now i can also see that if there was an extraordinary student then they would not stay in the avg class for long. but that is where i got the idea that the self-fullfilling prophecy is what you are labeled as and not what you see yourself as.

Hey Ryan,

I think the biggest part of that is what the student believes. If the student allows him/herself to believe that he or she is average or above average, that is the the reality he or she will begin to experience. Belief is what creates or removes many internal roadblocks. Now this isn't to say that there wont be some external ones, but it makes it a lot easier if you're not fighting with yourself too;). That's what believing in yourself helps you not to do!

peace and good vibes,
Leah :music:
