Because everything I do is so people oriented, real rest starts with slowing down and being somewhere I dont have to be 'ON" all the time

I just love coming home at the end of the day and laying on my couch, with my favorite blanket and a glass of wine... and sometime my boyfriend <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I don't turn on the tv or open the newspaper, I just lay there for a few minutes with some music on. I feel like I'm on the computer or talking with people all day, so its my time to unwind before I start dinner or meet up with friends.

I agree raleigh...that's a great way to relax. I also take a bubble bath, light some candles and then sink into the water while some relaxing music is playing.

Other things I do to relax?
-take a walk in a park
-window shop
-play piano
-read a good book

I find that meditation is a REAL relaxer. Unplug the phone, listen to a tape; I still do after years of meditating. I Like guided imagery but there are LOTS of ways to get the job done... When I started I would close the door and FORBID anyone to enter(specifically directed to children, spouse, and pets) for 20 minutes. Now I can meditate in the car or anywhere any time.

I love taking a hot bubble bath and turning on my favorite song. I also like turning off everything and reading a good book.

Listening to music and reading. Also, I love just gabbing with my friends on the phone, it lets me get rid of my stress and I laugh lots when I'm talking to them. Laughter is great way to relax for me.

Hi Ladies!

I am popping in to different forums, to see who all is here:)

I really like this topic. I used to veg in front of the TV, but realized that it ended up depressing me more in the end. Not to mention gain weight:) ugh!

I discovered scrapbooking 6 years ago, and it is my guiltless pleasure. I can create, do something relaxing, and at the end, not only do I have a fun, rewarding result, but I do not feel guilty doing it. I do not sit there going, I REALLY should be doing laundry, cleaning. . . .etc.

I know that most people feel this way about different crafts. I have heard that sewing, knitting, crocheting, etc can all have this effect.

Just remember to keep it fun, and a get to, not a have to:)

I also have 2 cats that REALLY help with the unwinding process! They are my scrappin partners:) They lay beside and sometimes ON (lol) what I am working on:)

Hope this gives somebody a creative idea:)

Hugs:)
