Hello Wick, I have a friendly horti-person (I call him) Mike who owns a nursery and helps me with this together with two of his staff (healthy and fit and strong etc!) He has 6 round wooden rollers that are solid and about as big as a pergola pole but smooth. I don't know how they do it so easiily but they place these rollers underneath the plant and move it slowly and surely by displacing the rollers from one side to another while balancing the pot on top. Does this explanation make sense? It takes people in the know to do this, looks like Canadian log rolling to me and dangerous, but they have never broken a pot and do it with practised ease.
Anyway, I have some garden help once a week who is also strong and he turns the pots for me in a circle, half turn then by half a turn again and we have gradually moved pots that way. Depending on the size and weight of your pots, I have a dropnose trolley that I use too with success and then I also have a drinks trolley on wheels that has a small steel lip. Borrow one of these from your local liquor outlet, it's like the one they use to move soft drink etc wooden crates around with. Even I can move my pots round like this. And finally, two of my pots are on those square appliance wheel supports (you know, the ones you use for the fridge and the dishwasher etc,) so I just wheel them about.
Please let us know how you finally do what you need to do, thanks and cheers Lestie.
