What's your favorite New York season? Winter, huddled by a roaring fire after downhill skiing? Spring, when everything is fresh and green and new? Summer, with swimming, boating, and waterparks? Or autumn, when Mother Nature puts on a colorful show?

Let us know which one and why!

Winter, winter, winter!

Christmas season here in California is just not right! I miss snowy winters, red noses, frosty breath, woolly hats and scarves!

Of course I conveniently forget all the times my car wouldn't start and scraping half an inch of ice from my windshield!

Oh the joys of selective memory!

Any suggestions for magical Christmas destinations? Are there any smaller towns up state that have famous Christmas parades or festivals for the holiday season?

I have to be in New York for the Christmas season. It's wonderful. But to be honest, Spring isn't bad either. Being able to picnic in Central Park, walk around without 50 layers of clothing and sit outside at a restaurant is really not that bad either <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I have to say I am never happy with the weather in NY or any where. I lived in Michigan for 22 years and I have to say summer was the best time because it wasnt really that bad. But spring is my fave because you can still where long short skrits or sweaters small shirts. I love spring in Muskegon Michigan, but I now since I live in NY for the rest of my life I still have fall to look foward to. I visited Brooklyn last year in December and the weather was awesome. No snow on the ground sunshine and not really that cold. Back in muskegon my family was having winter storms. Then about a month later I moved to Brooklyn then the snow hit like a tone of bricks. So anyway here in NY Winter way too cold but still looks nice, Spring is nice rains way too much, Summer time is Wwwaaayyy TOO HOT, Fall still havent seen but heard it is very nice.

CookieMonsta,

You are in for a treat! Fall in NY is beautiful, even sometimes amazing! There are some pics here: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art24999.asp
but they don't do the fall scenery justice!

I was born and raised in NY and have lived there all of my life except for 6 years I spent in Fla. Now, I am living in Michigan and miss NY terribly.

Fall was always my fave time of the year. I grew up in the Capital District area and once you start getting into the Adirondack Mountains, nothing is prettier than the fall. Plus I was only a half hour from Vermont so you have the best of both worlds with the Adirondacks and Vermont's Green Mountains. Also thirty mins south of Albany are the Catskill Mtns

So if you love to see the gorgeous, rich colors of Autumn, Upstate New York cannot be beaten.

Albany seems to be the central point for the beauty of it because west of Albany heading up to Rochester and Syracuse and the Finger Lakes Region. It's all beautiful in the Fall.

amadeus1220,

I totally agree! The Adirondacks in fall are spectacular!

I hope you can get back to NYS soon!

Take care,
