Do you have a deep fryer? Do you use it at all?

It's funny, we used to have one of those black completely open fryers and it was a HUGE pain to use. The oil splattered everywhere, it was a pain to clean, and we gave up. Then the news came that frying was evil so we were glad we had.

But nowadays if you look at all the low carb cookbooks they praise how great chicken wings are for you - as long as they are fried in HEALTHY OILS. We used to think all oils were bad, now we know some oils (like olive oils) are incredibly good for you!

So we got the covered Philips fryer with the removable inner lining -

and wow are we amazingly happy with it! We fry in olive oil most of the time, the wings cook up quickly, no mess at all, cleans up quick. It is just amazing how different a few years and a different outlook on life change your attitude on something like this. Also I think the easy to use fryer really helped a lot too

Where are you on the deep frying spectrum? Do you avoid all frying? Do you embrace it?

Deep fried foods have always satified my sweet tooth for some reason. For me any substitute for sweets is a plus. Please include deep fryer recipes whenever you can,in all catagories. Thanks

That's an interesting thought, I suppose deep fried foods do have a sweet taste to them and are good "munching food". My boyfriend in fact made some chicken wings just now to bring in to work with him, so I woke up to the aroma of frying

OK, we'll start loading up the site with a variety of deep frying recipes! The great part about healthy deep frying is it's very inexpensive. You get a giant pack of wings from the store, break it up into freezer ziplocks and then just pull out however many you want to cook up for your given meal.

If you have a deep fryer but don't use it a lot, why not? Is it too messy? To big?

We keep ours on our counter and pretty much use it 2 or 3 times a week. It's just so INCREDIBLY quick and easy to make food with!
