Hi I am 27 and my husband is 30. We have been blessed with our beautiful 2 year old son who has changed our life completely and we are ready to add to our family.

My husband and I have had unprotected sex for 8 months now and for the last three months we have made sure it has been every other day until my next cycle comes. I have not done any charting as of yet, I just started robitussin this month to see if that helps. <img src="/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I am starting to wonder if there are any problems with my husband or I since we were able to conceive our first child on the very first try.

Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Rebecca

I suggest you both see a naturopath. They can check your zinc levels etc and give supplements to increase your chances of becoming pregnant. Are you overweight? If so this makes it more difficult to become pregnant. Hope you are taking folic acid supplements. The other thing is to relax and not stress over it. If you are contrinually worrying about it then this can also make it more difficult to conceive. I wish you all the best

My aim is to ensure everyone reaches their optimal weight and body shape.

A few tips: Concentrating on becoming pregnant is a definate barrier. Decide to let nature take its course for 6 months. Concentrate on planning a break or family holiday. Eat a healthy diet and take folic acid.
DO NOT TAKE ANY OTHER SUPPLEMENTS.
If you are not pregnant AFTER your holiday then start planning by charting your cycle. You actually need 6 months graph to identify fertile period. Toddle off to Doc with evidence, ALONG with speciman of seman. This reduces waiting time for results, as S sample, your blood tests (FSH & Prolactin) ect & X ray (Pit fossa) may all arrive together.
Good luck.

It takes a year for a healthy couple to get pregnant. I have to say that you were lucky to get pregnant right away with your first child. Getting pregnant is not so easy actually. Even if fertilization occurs, it's a question whether the fertilized egg will manage to implant or if the egg is mature enough to survive.

It is true that you have to relax, take a holiday just like Molly said. Stressing about it won't do you any good.

Good luck
Moni
