Lois and her hubby arrive at my home sometime today. They will get to stay with us for two nights. I am so excited. There is so much to do to prepare for their arrival.

We are grilling fresh caught (by yours truely) Red Salmon for dinner. I am going to try a new recipe for a Chocolate Fruit Tart for dessert, and we will complement this meal with some New York Wine that I had to buy from the Six Mile Creek Winery when I was in New York a couple of weeks ago.

Saturday, we will do some sort of adventure. DH and I have a list of options to present at dinner tonight. We will see what appeals most to our W.Virgina guests. But, if I read her corrrectly, the convienence of indoor plumbing will be the biggest draw. *grin*

I'll post an update to the visit after Monday.

Oh, Rose, you will have a wonderful time with Lois and her dh!! I've had the priviledge of meeting them earlier this year, when I drove to Niagara Falls and we spent a few terrific hours together, hiking and having lunch. The skies literally opened up behind us as we finished our little hike, how very lucky we were!

I know Lois has her camera and maybe you can get yours out, too. I know she would be beside herself with joy if she saw a moose, especially if it was mowing your lawn!!! But I also know, without a doubt, that whether it's moose, eagles or just sitting around in your living room yakking, the 4 of you will have a wonderful visit!

Give them a great big (hug))) from me and have a great time.

Someday, I will make it up there, too, and I am already salivating over the menu...

Shelley dear, To make it up here, you will have to get over your fear of flying or learn how to drive over 5,000 miles without falling asleep. LOL But, I sincerely hope you do make it here. The guest room awaits your financial security and renewed bravery.

As for photos, of course there will be some taken. We have to have proof, don't we? *grin*

I second most of Shelley's thoughts although I've not yet had the pleasure of meeting Lois and her dh. How nice it would be if we could all get together and enjoy your fresh caught grilled salmon and the mouth watering chocolate fruit tart dessert. We'll be with you all in spirit this time and do look forward to pics and reports of your adventure and get-together. :rolling:

Now that I'm home I'm slowly getting through all the items that were posted during my trip. I will have to say that the meal Rose prepared was fabulous. The fish was so tasty (one can NEVER get tired of salmon - I think I had it two more times on my trip along with two meals of halibut and cod), the rice was delicious, the dessert was incredible, and the wine was perfect for the meal and the dessert. It was a meal fit for royalty.

BTW, Rose made us feel like royalty with her hospitality. Our guest room was most comfortable with a little gift bag waiting for us on the bed. And yes the indoor plumbing was a treat too. We enjoyed the hot showers and clean towels.

I think we spent two nights at my nephew's cabin, two nights at his girlfriend's apartment (one dorm-sized room and a bath that half of Seward's service personnel uses I think), one night in a lovely cabin with a loft B&B service, one night camping up at Lost Lake, and our last two nights were in a B & B in Seward. So along with our two nights at Rose and Dan's we did OK.

Mmmmmmmmmmm....Baps
