If you have clear weather tonight, take a moment and step outside to watch the full lunar eclipse. As the moon passes through the Earth's shadow, the reflected light will make the moon appear blood red at totality.

Cool! I didn't know about this. <img src="/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

Today is my husband's birthday, so I'll have to tell him about the "blood moon". It'll be a neat little show for him. *chuckle*

Rae & Janet, It's gorgeous, I sat out on my back lawn for a good half hour watching her. Ok camped out is more like it...blankets pillows and my hood pulled over my head. I even put on my glasses and named constellations. There were atleast 4 shooting stars as well. Just as the eclispe reached totality a breeze kicked up and circled the yard ( I have a BIG BIG BIG yard - think foot ball feild ) until it some how managed to get under the blanket just as my chin and down my torso.

Amazing.

I had some events to attend last night. I took the streetcar downtown, then walked several blocks to my first destination.

The moon was up, with no fog to be seen, almost totally eclipsed, with just a slight sliver edge. It was so clear, even with all the ambient light you get from being in a city. The darkest edge was turning red, fading to brown across the face of it. Just lovely.
