as a treat to myself, and because I had never experienced anything like this before, I had a soul retrieval session with a woman shaman the other day. i'm on vacation in Seattle, housesitting for my parents while they are away on a trip, and decided to find a few interesting things to pass my time.

it was an interesting ritual. she spoke only with the animal spirits and spirit guides for the actual process, so mostly i was lying there, meditating while she did the journeying. then she blew the pieces of my soul energy that she had retrieved back into my heart and into the top of my head. then she started the tape recorder and we talked about what she had experienced.

i'm going to try and work this up as an article, but it was just so interesting i wanted to post about it now. also, i had never really worked with animal guides and was curious as to what she would see as my totem animals. she described both the wolf and the owl as very powerful for me, with both animals being silver in color.

if anyone else has any experiences with things such as this, please feel welcome to share....

As part of my continuing process following the soul retrieval, I decided to work more focusedly with Owl. I made a mask which I wore during the recent Firedance event I went to in early August.

would like to say, I envy you because you travel a lot and have been meeting new wiccans/new covens and that you are able to learn their culture. I know that envy is a wrong word but how can you describe it? Anyway, been reading several articles but I noticed that many Christians have converted to Wiccans, I guess you have encountered many of them too. I wonder why? Do you ever care to ask them this?
