As far as a chakra spread, do you mean a spread where you select a card for each of the 7 chakras? If so, yes, I'm familiar. It's one of the spreads in the Power Tarot book I once reviewed. Have you ever used it yourself? How did it work out for you? Personally, I haven't tried that spread. (You know me...I tend to stick with the trusty 3 card spreads! <img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> )

Yes, Janet, it must be the spead you're talking about. But mine also has something called "timus" or "thimus" between the Heart chakra and the Throat chakra. I have no idea what this thing is - do you know anything about it? Anyways, as the book suggests, this Timus shows our ability to maintain inner peace and harmony. It also shows the major reasons of stress and anxiety in our lives.
And, in the end of the spread, there are two cards to symbolize the chakras of hands and feet. Hands chakra shows us how to use our energy to help other people and to make the world a better place to live in, and Feet chakra deals with the areas of our life where we need to be very cautious and reasonable to avoid problems.
I've tried this spread not so long ago, and I liked it. Your information on chakras helped me a lot in understanding it, so thank you very much again for taking time to write these articles!

The Thymus gland is located in the chest, just under the breast bone. It is known as the "heart of the immune system." In the book Wheels of Life, the author attributes the Thymus gland to the 4th chakra area. In the book Hands of Light, the author mentions minor chakral points throughout the hands and feet. (Both of these books are mentioned in the article where I list books and audios about chakras.)

I like what you've written about the hands and feet. What a great symbol for helping others (hands) and caution about where one is treading (feet)! I can certainly see how those elements would greatly enhance a spread.

As I said in my introductory article, different authors and healers have different takes on chakras. I've seen some say there are many more than 7, with others saying there are 7 main ones but many "minor" chakras, etc. Chakras are just vortexes of energy. When discussion the ones along the spine, though, there seems to be a consensus that there is 7.

I haven't known much about chakras before I came to read the article on this webpage, but I've often felt them working in my body during meditation and Tarot reading. I often close my eyes and concentrate on a certain "energy station" in me, and then I feel warmth and sometimes even heat within it, and I see before my eyes the colour that corresponds to this particular chakra. :beamedup: I've also noticed that I tend to prefer certain scents associated with this or that chakra during the times when I experience problems related to its sphere. Isn't that great? <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Can anyone share similar experiences?

Yes, Janet. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> For instance, I couldn't use lavender for a long period of time, when, I guess, I had problems with the Heart Chakra. It was as if I was allergic to it, I just couldn't stand the scent at all! Recently, I tried the scent again, and liked it very much! Even more, it made me feel really comfortable and peaceful and loving. Rosewood oil or incense sticks are the ones I often use for relaxation and meditation. They help me to calm down and turn my mind to spiritual issues.
