They were not behaving as Christians. Christian is as Christian does. That goes for Catholicism too.

lovelove - perhaps your brand of Christianity does not, in your belief, subscribe to the theory that a woman is a lesser person...however in Genesis, Eve was was made from Adam to serve him. Also, Lilith was spurned from Eden because she did not obey Adam. There is one example for you

Also, Catholicism is a brand of Christianity...and on another side note, why is this particular discussion in the New Age forum?

It's in the "What are you reading?" thread. I'm reading a novel about a woman who was prosecuted by the Inquisition for being a witch. That's when lovelove stepped in...

Botanical,
Eve was made as Adam's companion. They served each other after serving God first. And what scripture do you get a Lilith from?

I'm only about 1/4 of the way through it so far, but it is good even though the story is moving a little slowly. A lot of good imagery (sometimes a little too much, considering the backdrop) and good background on the characters. I'm enjoying it so far, and like The Red Tent and The Burning Times it is fiction with a straw of truth is tossed in with it.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I've finished this book, and it is excellent. The plot goes a little slowly at times, but it is worth sticking through it.

I'm reading The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. I guess that qualifies as kind of New Age. It's a wonderful book!

JoanJ, my mom gave me the Power of Now and I've never picked it up. I keep hearing good things about it though, so guess I should give it a try!
