There is a new Article that I've posted dealing with the North and South Nodes of the Moon. http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art10570.asp

Have you figured out your North and South Nodes?

Have you ever used the knowledge of Nodes for personal growth?

Do they ring true for you?

My North Node is in Aquarius, and my South Node is in Leo. This means:

Quote:
The South Node in Leo indicates past lives spent as a Very Important Person-- as an entertainer or royalty. The ego is very strong, and you can come off as dominating, demanding, and willful, because of a craving for other people's approval and respect. The North Node in Aquarius indicates that you find the respect and approval you want only when you work from a sense of equality with all creatures. You are a natural born appreciator and can motivate others to achieve their best, especially when you work together for a common cause. Being involved in groups and humanitarian causes is very good for you.
I have ascertained that I have a strong QUEEN-WARRIOR Archetype, as well as REBEL. Combined with Aries Rising and Scorpio Sun, this does indeed have a mix that feels very "royal" and entitled! Personally, I don't like doing the group thing. At all. However, it seems to benefit and integrate me when learning to be "among" a group. It can be difficult, though, especially having leadership traits that people seem drawn to.

I'm not sure my position on past lives, but sometimes I do feel that there is an echo of "royalty"...as if I had need to fight for things or "rule" over things. This is lessening as I get older, but it's interesting to ponder, in any event.

My Moon is in Aquarius, so that's at least one thing going for me in terms of heading towards Aquarius! (It also means that I tend to be very even keeled emotionally, which isn't typically "female"; yet, it's a pretty ideal placement for the Moon IMHO. I like it there. <img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> My husband's Moon is in Aquarius as well...and we're both Scorpio Suns. His rising is Cancer, however.)

What about you?

Janet,

The one thing you don't really touch upon in your article is how to determine which is your North and South node. You say you need a chart (which I have) and that is has to do with the moon, but that's about it.

Is the North Node the same house that the moon is in?

Also, as a person who was born on the East Coast, and who is now living on the West Coast, astrologers often give my chart a quarter turn when reading it, as moving large distances on the planet changes your chart. Should I take that into consideration? (as it will put my moon into a different house)

Hello Rae!

I should include instructions on finding the North Node. Thanks for pointing that out.

The North Node is also called True Node. When getting a chart from Astro.com, you will be able to save in in MyAstro. To access your chart, go to "Chart Drawings, Ascendant". The North Node looks like this [imageBellaOnline ALERT: Raw URLs are not allowed in these forums for security reasons. Please use UBB code. North Node in Taurus, South Node in Scorpio:

North Node in Taurus represents a need to get In touch with your own self-worth-- your values & awareness of comfort zones, what feels good, what doesn't (Taurus/2nd house=your values and resources). The South Node in Scorpio represents a longing to feel empowered by another person. In past lives, you did this by buying into another person's system of values and priorities (Scorpio/8th house=other people's resources). Because this lifetime is set up to get you back to a sense of your own self-worth, your longing for a fulfilling intimate relationship will only be satisfied when you focus on your own strength, your own values, your own priorities
My self-esteem and self-worth have been issues I have been struggling with and working on since elementary school. Ever since my early teens, I've had issues with following other people's value systems. You can see how the body art thing ties into that pretty clearly...

And ever since my last boyfriend broke up with me, which is about a year and a half ago, I've been trying to figure out what I really want and what is of the most importance to me, both in my work and personal life.

Hello Rae,

I talked to someone earlier who had a SN in Scorpio and NN in Taurus, and he basically said the same thing you did. *nods*.

Thank you for sharing your journey. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
