I just spent a month in Italy and enjoyed myself emensely. However, the experience was intensified tenfold by listening to Italian music artists. I am a big fan of Andrea Bocelli now, whose CD I brought along with me. I recomend bringing music or buying music in your host country while traveling.

And if there are any Andrea Bocelli fans out there, a coworker at Universal said that he is coming out with a new album in early November! Yay!!

I agree. Very moving. Please can you try posting the link to the song again. I just removed it because it wasn't working. I'd love to hear it.

I also enjoy listening to Italian pop music. Eros Ramazzotti is my favorite. Last week when we were at the Venetian casino in Vegas, my 14 year old son turned to me and said, "They're playing Eros." They were!

There's a great site for more information: http://www.ramazzotti.com

You have your son trained well! Thanks for the link.

I wish Vanessa would come back and give us the Bocelli link again too.

Isn't it funny how certain songs can remind you of specific times and places and vice versa.

When I was studying in Florence in 1992 there was a song that was played on the radio over and over and over!

I think it was called "Questa Casa Non e Un Albergo." I don't even know who sang it. I can still hear it clearly in my head though. From 12 years ago. Amazing.

Sarah, the song you mention, that's definitely a TV series in Italy! Maybe this song is from the series?

Thanks Babaloo!

The mystery is now solved. Apparently the song was by 833 -- and was actually called "S'inkazza (Questa casa non un albergo)"

Now, of course, I'll have to see if I can find a copy of it somewhere to see if the song is really as I remember it.
