I've been so busy working with Jill and getting the knitting class going that I haven't been spinning much. Still, my wheel is sitting out and waiting on me. I know that as I was cleaning my kitchen this morning I decided I wanted some new hotpads from some handspun. I used one of those potholder looms and a plastic needle, and did a simple under and over weave to make a really nice potholder! I'm going to spin some bright colors and make a few of those for the kitchen to perk it up.

I also sat down and created a plan for making a wool drying rack that can also be useful when I want to dry out some petals and things for potpourri. The plan looks feasible, so I'll give that a try when the weather is good and I can get outside.

A recent crochet magazine had a pattern for a crocheted, drapey sweater/coat sort of thing I really liked. I may have to work on that sometime before fall comes, because I think it would look pretty good on me. If anyone has any neat stuff they would like to show off here at Spinning@BellaOnline, just send me an email with the jpg and I'll be happy to put it up with a little story about you! Everyone likes to be inspired by the work of others.

I also plan to use some natural materials to do some dyeing, too, but that will be the subject of future articles. What is everyone else doing?

Cara,
I am surprised that there haven't been more answers to this question..maybe others will post now that some time has passed. I am knitting -- both garment knitting, and felted bags. I am flirting with the idea of small tapestry weaving, but haven't fully given in to that idea yet. As the spring weather approaches and the warmer days are upon us, I look forward to washing and preparing fleece for spinning.. I wash my fleece by handfulls, and dry between two lengths of plastic coated window screening. A sort of "fleece sandwhich" if you will. I use clothespins to keep the sandwhich 'closed" around the edges, and set the whole thing onthe front lawn to bake in the sunlight until try -- usually takes only a few hours. My neighbor tells me that she always figures spring has arrived when she sees fleece trying, and skeins of fiber hangining from the branches of my plum tree, drying in the breeze.
