do u find that all decent movies that have ghosts in always end up like scooby doo? it would be great to see one where it turns out the ghost is real and they can't get rid of it! eek

What movies have you been watching? I have seen many movies that cover tales of real hauntings.

What about the movie "The Others"? I can usually guess a movie before it ends but this one had me down to the last few minutes. They were real!

I guess i'm thinking more of the older horror movies.
The others was really good, the end definately was unpredictable which was gr8!
I love vincent Price films he was amazing he has the coolest voice!
Most tend to be slasher flicks these days which is good but i prefer movies about the paranormal, ones that are'nt about stupid teenagers! I wana see a movie that scares the bejeezers outa me, the last one that was even close was the blair witch project! eek

Personally, I think the Blair Witch Project was a waste of film. I did not find it at all frightening just full of bad acting and horrid filming. I am curious, what did you find scary about Blair Witch?

Some chilling movies I have enjoyed, old and new:

The Fog, Poltergeist 1, Amiteeville(sp?) Horror, Dracula 2000, From Dusk Till Dawn (all of them), John Carpenter's Vampires, What Lies Beneath, Sixth Sense. I can't seem to think of others.

Not all of these are about ghosts but each portrayed a real something from the beyond. I found each to have the chilling quality that leaves icy tingles up and down my spine.

i found the silence of the lambs and death and maiden scary. Also some of films based on Steven Kings books are vaquely scary such as the shining, misery and cuju (the book was much scarier- they spent so long building up the caracters before letting the dog rip half of them to pieces.

a scary movie should fill you with dreed, and make you feel unnerved. texas chainsaw came very close but if you want to feel that horrible sinking feeling in your stomach give the exorcist a try.any one who says it doesnt get to you cant fear death or loss of a loved one. its just horrobley good.

I don't see how you can't like it!!!! The cool thing about it is that you don't see the blair witch and it's down to your imagination to decide whether its scary or not! It's the kinda film that makes you feel like your part of it cos the actors act like normal people not the kind of stupid cheeseball teenagers that are in most horror movies!
I also like the fact that you don't really know what happens at the end and it's left open for you to decide yourself!
