Anyone else out there with Maine Coon Cats? Please tell me about your experiences with them. Include pictures too if you have them. I have 2 named BooBoo and Sophie. They live up to their names. BooBoo is always getting himself into trouble and he's quite a lovable guy. Sophie is Marilyn Monroe reincarnated and is also very affectionate. They're very demanding and always know when it's treat time. I'm constantly brushing them but they still get knots in their fur. Does anyone know how to get them out besides having to cut them out with scissors?

I have two beautiful, loving, playful, intelligent, inquisitive, and cuddly eleven and one-half year old Maine Coon cats, Andre and Angelique. Although their personalities and food preferences are miles apart, they are both the most wonderful pets you could ever want.

As for grooming, his fur is thicker and more subject to mats than is hers, and it does require effort on our part to keep things smooth and silky. We use a variety of grooming tools, but despite this, the bottom line is that it's often necessary to very carefully snip out the worst of the tangles/mats that still occur even with the regular attention they get.
