This is one of my other kitties. As far as we know she is a himalayan (mixed with who knows what else) she is very people shy. The girl who owned her before left to college and could not take her with. Her parents had got a new dog and could not take care of the kitty. We adopted her, but the experience of being taken from her home (she was around five then) really traumatized her. She will go into hiding whenever other people are around, and will not come out until she has seen them over at our house at least five times. She adores my hubby, and curls up on him whenever he is home. We named her honey, because she is such a sweet kitty. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I have had 2 pure bred Himalayans and both were people shy. I have talked to other owners who said the same. So part of your kitty's problem with people is natural. fish
