From the SF Examiner:

"Fox News' Roger Friedman says Paris Hilton is a fraud. The hotel heiress recently launched her own line of jewelry, but according to Friedman, the so-called Paris Hilton Collection was actually the work of jewelry designer Caroline Ballou."

OK, does this really come as a surprise?

Does anyone plan to buy jewelry from this line?

(I actually find it comforting that she DIDN'T design it herself. It might actually be worthwhile then!)

My guess is this girl hasn't broken a sweat her entire life. I hear she is also releasing an album. This should be interesting.

Actually, it makes me want to look up Caroline Ballou and look at HER designs.

I know - I hope the designer is getting paid well for this. (I'm guessing she is.) I think if someone like Paris Hilton showed up and wanted to claim my designs as her own, I'd have to decline . . . .

Off the subject of jewelry, I find the celebrity status being given to this girl to be so strange. It's like they made her a celebrity for doing nothing, so now they're quickly trying to have her do things (or pretend to do things) like music, jewelry, and acting. Are they hoping folks will forget she's really not a designer, musician, or actor? How weird!

Same goes for her sister. The only real thing these girls are known for are being heiresses to the Hilton fortune. What a charmed life...and Nicole Richie? Another story...
