I have yet to find a group in my area that meets my needs and standards for a support group. It has been repeatedly suggested that I start one myself. Lately I am finding that I am a source of information and support for those who are homeschooling as well and for those who afterschool. I have also been asked more than once if I would consider tutoring for pay.

I am at the point in my life and homeschooling that I believe I am ready to take the plunge and begin a homeschooling support group.

Since I have never been a member of one, I am not completely sure how to get it going. If you have suggestions or opinions, please share.

HI! I emailed you an article I wrote a few months ago about starting a support group.

Did you find it helpful?

Aren't I just awful about posting on the boards?

Have the following news stories and conversation boards made it into your local loops yet? Long URLs, so cut & paste.

The articles are nice, normal stuff, but nice.
The conversations on the boards, however, are not! I mean, it makes you wonder about some of these people.

I still don't understand how homeschoolers can be so criticized and hated. I feel that most of it is either trouble makers who feel better after making people boil, or parents who are feeling guilty about their own kid's educational situation.

Anyhow, even if you don't read the message boards, the articles are good.
