There may be accidental pregnancies, but there are no accidental children.

There may be illegitimate parents but there are no illegitimate children.

There may be unplanned pregnancies but there are no unplanned children.

In Isaiah, God says He made you and He formed you in the womb.

In Jeremiah, God says that He knew us before He formed us in the womb.

Ephesians says that God chose us before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight.

Lynne, I love this article you wrote!! I was wondering if I could reprint it giving you and Bella Online credit in Adoption Blessings Journal- a 20 page free 20 page Christian journal I edit. How this message needs to be echoed to the callous world we live in where sanctity of life is not honored and many do not see life as divine and think life can be erased like a pencil error (abortion) I was born in January 1955 to a 32 year old woman who was married and had cancer and a communicable disease- my birth parents were not Christians, did not attend church and had myriads of problems, socially, finacially and emotionally. I was a prime "candidate" for abortion. But in 1955 Life was the law and abortion illegal. My parents chose Life and adoption! How grateful I am that the law and society felt then that life was divine and precious! Who will speak for those unborn precious ones who have no voice!

Amen to the so-called "illegitimate children" explanation... I sure wish this would be spread around - I'm so tired of people thinking that unwanted pregnancies are some sort of punishment from God or something. What kind of difference would that make to the abortion rate if people understood just how God feels about kids and how much of a blessing they are? Especially to parents of pregnant teens.

Hi Jody,
I think these ideas should be shared in every possible way. However, you don't have to give me credit. I think I got the idea from the book, Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. (Day 2)

It impressed me so much, I thought it needed to be shared.

My 14 yr old daughter is pregnant 7 weeks. I have only been 'mad' one day.. it was my day to expel the frustration.. I cannot be angry about this. I am totally supporting my daughter. It will be a tough road and I will be a young 'Gami', but I know this new life is a blessing from God and it will be loved!!!

hapma1121,
Its a hard thing to come to terms with at first, but it sounds like you will be a very supportive mom and a loving grandma
