I used to keep a copy of Bulfinch's mythology by me bedside table lol! I love mythology, of any culture. Though some are a bit more bloodthirsty than others.

I still have the copy of Bulfinch's from the class on Greek mythology that I took spring of my freshman year of college, 17 years ago. Part of the D-E section is bound upside down, but all the pages are there.... wow, I hadn't thought of that in years.

Have you ever read Patricia Monaghan's compendium of goddesses? It's stunningly comprehensive. That was the one where I first read about Artemis Orthia.

My father had a copy, and then when he moved a couple of the boxes of his books "mysteriously" dissapeared... funny about that, it was the boxes that had some of his rarest and most expensive signed books. Anyway we are looking for another copy to rebuild our collection.

My favorite goddess references are

THE BOOK OF GODDESSES & HEROINES
by Patrica Monaghan

GODDESSES IN WORLD MYTHOLOGY - A Biographicl Dictionary by Martha Ann & Doroty Myers Imel

That second one is hefty with very small print, and it is not a casual read, but if a goddess isn't in there, none of her worshippers have EVER told anyone else. I got it when a local used bookstore went out of business and saw the thick volume in a sale pile.

Yesterday morning, I have just finished doing magical spells on my dog. She was having labor pains for 2 days, finally she made. The stud is a golden retriever and the [censored] is just a native, brown colored. The effect was a dark brown, almost black like the color of a German Shepherd, don't know where she got hooked. She bore 6 puppies and 1 was almost perfect for a golden retriever but it had white spots on her tummy. and most of them looked like they are wearing a black mask like ninja turtles. I just hope they grow up to a beautiful and healthy, double-crossed dog. I barely had any sleep at all.Well, I haven't found the book yet, I don't have time yet. Gotta go, as Gen. McArthur once said, I shall return, I have to clean the house. Blessed be!
