Friends
This morning she didn't get picked to get a donut,
little did she know this would make her go nuts.
The next thing she knew she had to face the boy,
the one who likes her, but her not him anymore than a friend.
Her friends tease her in a friendly way.
She knows it's not true what they say,
so she keeps her feelings at bay.
As she falls behind at school,
she realizes for the millionth time,
that her life's not so cool.
"Why am I here?
Oh dear! Why one earth am I here?"
On the way home,
her life seems like she's been trapped in a dome.
"What's the point in living?
No one seems think a thing...
Well at least about me."
On the next outing people shout,
they shout for her to get out.
Her mom scolds her,
her brother's old ploys just keep coming.
When they get to the next destination, she realizes something.
To her shoulder she is able to add another ding,
for she realizes that she's lost $22.
They search and search, but to no avail,
as they drive off while she is crying, they notice that she is becoming pale.
At home she gets out the paint, but her mom decides to help.
This makes her feel like she's wrapped in kelp.
She tries to take her emotions out by means of a brush,
This just gives her a head rush.
She heads upstairs,
and then she starts bawling.
She feels as if her whole life she's been crawling.
crawling along at a creeping pace,
never feeling like showing face.
She blames everything on herself,
for this is her way.
She has thought this way,
almost every single day.
Every day since second grade,
for a reason she does not remember.
Her life just seems to droll on,
neverending sorrow will cloak her forever.
"Is there ever an end to this madness?"
and then she thinks...
"But the people who support me will always be there,
not to scold,
but only to hold.
They'll be there for me until the end,
and this is why the end will not come tonight,
as previously anticipated."
This is what friends are for,
to be there and to help you score.
They will be there to listen to all of your troubles.
Never there to hurt you.
Always remember real friends are there to just be there.
To provide comfort and love.
Always remember your friends.
