I've gotten about half-way through it and hope to finish it next week. I loved the writing style-it was as if he were sitting in my living room telling me this story. What amazed me was that he could put together an entire book from what I might have seen as an article. As an article, though, the real impact of this event would have been lost. I was so touched by the power of an event that was a nice service project, but that I doubt people realized was changing lives and creating memories that still moved the participants all these years later! I'm learning to appreciate the importance of serving others and the book showed me that you can't guess how your small actions might touch another person.
