Hi,

I was reading a few of the old posts, and it seems there are some big King fans out there (myself included) i was wonderin if anybody likes the short stories he does in 'Skeleton Crew' 'Everythings Eventual' and 'Nightmares and Dreamscapes', as i prefer to read his short stories over the novels (although i do own a large amount of his novels).

My favourite is 'The Long Walk' which he wrote under Richard Bachman. I've read it a thousand times, and although its not techinally scary, the idea of walking to survive is psycologically frightning.

(For anyone who is interested in reading 'The Long Walk' it can be found in 'The Bachman Books')

I would also recommend 'Different Seasons' Which contains four 'novellas' three of which have been made into films - The Shawshank Redemption, Apt Pupil and Stand By Me.

Hello!
Haven't read King in ages although I used to love him. Don't know why I stopped really!
"The Long Walk" is a really good one although not technically horror as you mentioned. But I always thought it was pretty intense, guess it's the psychology behind it! Imagine having to walk to survive! I can't even get off the couch in the evenings... <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
