Will you be reading Hillary Clinton's book this summer? If you've read it, what did you think?

Since we know (or assume) she'll be running for president, I feel this will be a book written with a purpose. It will be a "I was naive and didn't realize what he was doing, I was loyal and stood by him, I was hurt like any other woman" story. It will be a combo of having us admire her intelligence, feel sorry for the abuse she went through and feel proud of her strength ...

I'm not saying she should have left him. But to put out a book right now seems more a deliberate publicity stunt with a deliberate aim than anything else ...

You hit the nail on the head. Every review I've read gives the outline you stated.

I'm not crazy about the message it sends. If your husband cheats on you, stand by him no matter what. It's not the message I want my sons to hear from a prominent woman.

I think that most Americans would like to read a first hand account of the life of the former first lady/ present senator/ possibly future presidential candidate. However, I agree that now is not the best time, and this is not the best book, for us to read a *true* account of her life so far. I generally admire Ms. Clinton but right now I think she sank pretty low to put out this obvious publicity stunt. It is definitely more of a call for attention than a true book.

I think an honest relating of events would have been best. I know anyone putting out a book wants to come across in the best light. That's human nature.

Some genunine humility would be nice. "Yes, I really blew it when I blamed a vast conspiracy for starting the Monica rumors." She was on Larry King the other night justifying her comments.
